Jia Xiu currently had a problem that was not especially serious, yet still somewhat serious. It would be easy enough to deal with if he really had to; the key was that he did not know when would be the right time to deal with it.

His nose was a little itchy.

And the itch was gradually getting worse.

It showed signs of developing into an unbearable itch.

To scratch or not to scratch—that was the question.

If he scratched, Jia Xiu looked around. The setting was far too formal and solemn. Strictly speaking, this did not even count as a "meeting"; it was more like an announcement ceremony.

The large group of leaders seated at the central table were not actually discussing anything. Whatever needed discussing had surely been settled in private long ago. All that remained now was to announce it in the most formal manner.

The representatives in the other private rooms throughout the venue were there as witnesses, gathered to hear the decision on whether war was certain, what its objectives would be, and how the first step would be fought.

This meant that not only was the atmosphere in this small conference room extremely solemn, everything happening here was also being broadcast and projected to all the attending representatives.

More importantly, Jia Xiu had not yet figured out the direction from which the broadcast was being captured. It might not have been a camera, but some kind of spell. Either way, he had not found it.

The mana fluctuations in this place were far too complex and varied. A magical experiment required stability and clarity, with every source of fluctuation traceable and nothing interfering with the main experiment. This conference room was the complete opposite of an experimental environment.

Not his comfort zone.
