Deep beneath the main planet of the Ukemak Plane, Jia Xiu's group, having come from afar, finally regrouped.
Jia Xiu, who had gone in search of the Demon-Eating Microbe, and Master Larven, who had gone to investigate what exactly was going on with that Demon King, had coincidentally both found their way to this vast, open space more than a kilometer underground.
With this place and this setup, it looked perfect for a boss fight no matter how one looked at it. Flat enough to form a raid team, plenty of people present, practically brimming with the sense that red circles would carpet the ground, everyone would scramble across the arena handling mechanics, and a commander's blood pressure would soar in the voice channel.
Yet nothing happened.
There was no battle at all. The place was utterly quiet as a heavy door swung open, revealing a brightly lit area beyond.
Clearly, the god here knew they had arrived—and was inviting them in.
Jia Xiu was not especially worried. If there had been an ambush, it would have been laid long ago. Dropping them straight into a trap through teleportation would certainly have been more effective than giving them time to prepare. They had waited quite a while, and now an internally lit door had even been opened for them. There was no reason to think a conflict was intended.
Besides, even if a conflict did break out, there was no need to panic. If this local god had been especially powerful, it would not have secretly hidden away its plane. If it were truly powerful, it would have gone head-to-head with the Devil Race.
Still, before entering, Jia Xiu intended to get on the same page with Master Larven first.
"That Demon King was an imitation?"
"Yes."
