A few days after returning from the church, Priest Milo sent over a detailed report.
Desensitization therapy had expanded from a small-scale experiment to cover everyone with post-traumatic stress disorder receiving treatment across the entire diocese.
If the method was ultimately proven completely viable, it would also be reported to the Pope, and Jia Xiu might have a chance to receive an honorary title.
The Church of Light's honors weren't empty titles. Apart from having to travel north into Demonfolk territory, they were like a super-pass that earned the bearer respect from local nobles in any country or region.
However, Priest Milo said there was no need to get one's hopes up too much. Whether Jia Xiu's contributions were enough to earn him an honor was one thing. Given the Church's usual efficiency in such matters, the process from nomination and review to the final vote on whether the honor should be granted could take two or three years at the shortest, or as many as five or six. He'd have a long wait ahead of him.
During this time, Jia Xiu mainly focused on two things.
The first, of course, was writing a paper.
A paper on treating post-traumatic stress disorder through mental spells and desensitization therapy.
The term "post-traumatic stress disorder" didn't exist on the continent. There had never been an official name for this condition, so people called it all sorts of things.
Gone mad, gone stupid, possessed by demons, taken over by spirits, and so on.
So Jia Xiu had a chance to come up with a name.
After several failed attempts to coin a new word by piecing together roots and suffixes and adding a few letters, the way Mia did, Jia Xiu gave up.
He chose the simplest, most straightforward method.
A literal translation!
