Yue Ling defeats Wu Ming, attends the Treasure Appreciation Fair, and leads a team through the Core Disciples’ Selection Tournament. The seven survivors are chosen to represent Shrek Academy against the Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineer Academy.

• Yue Ling challenged Wu Ming to a duel and won by using his domain to evade her Golden Crow attacks and strike her with his Chrysanthemum Blades.
• Wu Ming accepted her month-long wager to spar with Yue Ling, while Han Ruoruo advised her to ask Zhang Lexuan for romantic advice.
• Yue Ling and Gongyang Mo attended the Treasure Appreciation Fair, where Yue Ling received a red card granting him one free item each year and bought a Soul Tool blueprint and supplies.
• Xuan Zi began the Core Disciples’ Selection Tournament, ordering twenty-two students to fight until only seven remained and telling Yue Ling to use only seventy percent of his strength.
• Yue Ling and Gongyang Mo formed a seven-person team with Dai Yueheng, Xixi, Chen Zifeng, Ling Luochе, and Yao Haoxuan, then coordinated their defense and attacks against the upperclassmen.
• Yue Ling’s team defeated the opposing students through coordinated attacks, and Xuan Zi stopped the match when only two opponents remained.
• Xuan Zi selected Yue Ling, Dai Yueheng, Gongyang Mo, Xixi, Chen Zifeng, Yao Haoxuan, and Ling Luochе to represent Shrek Academy against the Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineer Academy.

Yue Ling stayed behind while Shrek’s teams won the tournament, then earned the chance to attempt the Inner Court assessment. As he passed its first test, Zhang Lexuan confronted her feelings for him and learned she was free to choose her own future.

• Elder Xuan formed the Reserve Team and kept Yue Ling from traveling to the tournament, while Yue Ling trained with him and spent time with Zhang Lexuan and the Inner Court students.
• Yue Ling cooked a meal for Xuan Zi, Mu En, Bei Bei, Zhang Lexuan, and Ma Xiaotao, then revealed his Soul King strength and spent a quiet evening with Zhang Lexuan.
• Xuan Zi sent Shrek’s official and reserve teams to the tournament without Yue Ling, who stayed at the academy, cultivated, and considered the danger of the Fifth Elder’s remnant soul inside his Spirit Sea.
• Gongyang Mo returned with news that Shrek had won the tournament, and Yue Ling joined the celebratory meal before Yan Shaozhe and the elders debated whether he could attempt the Inner Court assessment early.
• The elders approved Yue Ling’s exceptional assessment, and Xuan Zi and Yan Shaozhe arranged three tests, beginning with a fight against Zhang Lexuan.
• Yue Ling fought Zhang Lexuan with his Soul Skills and concealed Golden Stamen Piercing Ray Strike, then passed the first assessment and went with her into Shrek City.
• Tang Ya registered at Shrek Academy by demonstrating the Tang Sect’s Mysterious Jade Hand after explaining that the Iron Blood Sect had taken her family’s grounds.
• Yue Ling and Zhang Lexuan saw Bei Bei with a girl, and Zhang Lexuan later told Mu En that she would no longer be bound by her promised marriage to Bei Bei and realized she wanted to pursue Yue Ling.

Yue Ling passed his written assessment and began his final Inner Court test by accepting an Inspector mission to rescue Windbell Village’s survivors and defeat the Evil Soul Masters. He hid the villagers in a cave and fought the attackers alone, while the boy’s grief threatened to expose their hiding place.

• Wang Yan gave Yue Ling a written assessment, and Yue Ling passed with 101 points despite his weak knowledge of Soul Tools.
• Xuan Zi and Yan Shaozhe made Yue Ling an Inspector and sent him to rescue villagers in Windbell Village and defeat the suspected Evil Soul Masters.
• Yue Ling found survivors in Windbell Village, learned that the Evil Soul Masters had abducted villagers, and led the survivors toward Lingdou City.
• Yue Ling hid the villagers in a cave, covered their tracks, and waited for the Evil Soul Masters to pursue them.
• Yue Ling fought the Evil Soul Masters, killing Fourth and then decapitating the second-in-command after resisting the bell’s mental attack.
• Yue Ling killed another fleeing Evil Soul Master and resolved to spare none of the attackers, while a grieving boy shouted that he would find his parents and risked revealing the cave.
