Function

A Martial Soul awakens within its bearer and may be released through Martial Soul Possession, altering the user’s body, aura, and combat capabilities. Su Ge’s possession merges the Golden-Haired Lion Mastiff phantom into his body, strengthening him and transforming his hair and eyes gold 2.

Martial Souls determine a Soul Master’s general combat classification. Examples include assault-type, control-type, defense-type, agility-attack-type, auxiliary, and healing Soul Masters 28 59 62.

A Martial Soul Avatar is a high-level technique used by Soul Saints and above. Zhao Wuji uses the Vajra Bear Avatar, Dugu Bo uses the Jade Phosphorous Serpent Emperor Avatar, and Tang Lie uses the Clear Sky Hammer Avatar 65 122.

Martial Soul Fusion Skill

Two compatible Martial Souls may form a Martial Soul Fusion Skill. Compatibility can be affected by Martial Soul quality and cultivation-related changes; Su Ge and Zhu Zhuqing develop roughly ten-percent compatibility, which improves their joint cultivation but is insufficient for a Fusion Skill 112.

Golden-Haired Lion Mastiff Martial Soul

Su Ge’s Golden-Haired Lion Mastiff is a mutated Beast Spirit recorded on his spirit certificate under that name 2 8. It is described as the legendary ancestor of canine Soul Beasts and, by some claims, lion-type Soul Beasts 2.

Its phantom resembles a massive lion-like beast with golden fur, a black demonic face, a large head, and a coordinated body built for explosive force rather than bulky musculature 2.
