Background / History

Tang San arrives at Nuoding Academy as a working student from Holy Soul Village and becomes Yu Xiaogang's disciple. He first meets Su Ge outside the academic affairs office, where the two exchange a brief, polite introduction before Su Ge deliberately avoids further contact with Yu Xiaogang. 4

After joining Dorm Seven, Tang San is exempted from its challenge rules by Su Ge. He later joins Xiao Wu in challenging Su Ge for the position of dorm boss, but Su Ge overwhelms both of them through raw physical strength. 5 7 Tang San subsequently accepts Xiao Wu as “Sister Xiao Wu” rather than continuing their own dispute. 8

Under Yu Xiaogang's instruction, Tang San studies powerful soul beasts and shares that knowledge with Su Ge during a trip to the library. On the eve of graduation, Tang San invites Su Ge to attend Shrek Academy at Yu Xiaogang's recommendation. He travels with Su Ge and Xiao Wu to Suotuo City, eventually accepting Su Ge's support and addressing him as “Brother Su.” 22 23

At Shrek Academy, Tang San reveals that he is a level 33 control-type battle soul master. Tang San confronts Su Ge after discovering his support for the Breaking Clan. When Su Ge overpowers Tai Tan, Tang San attacks with Blue Silver Grass and the lethal hidden weapon Yama Invitation, then uses the distraction to pull Tai Tan away. Su Ge evades the weapon and takes Tai Tan outside Heaven Dou City despite Tang San's protests. Learning that Su Ge has reached the Soul Emperor realm and fearing retaliation for his attack, Tang San persuades the Shrek tournament participants to leave the city and hide. 105 106 107 109

With Tang Hao and the Clear Sky Sect's support, Tang San begins cultivating his Clear Sky Hammer alongside Blue Silver Grass. He gathers the Strength, Defense, and Speed Clans as allies, while the Breaking Clan remains aligned with Su Ge. During a period of seclusion at the Clear Sky Sect, Tang San learns that his mother Ah Yin and the soul bone she left him have disappeared and that the Blue Silver Forest has been destroyed. He suspects Su Ge of responsibility and returns for the Soul Master Tournament determined to settle their grievances. 114 127 128

Tang San leads Shrek's tournament contingent through the Heaven Dou preliminaries and promotion matches.
