Tang San was Yu Xiaogang’s disciple and a member of the Shrek Seven Devils. He possessed twin martial souls: Blue Silver Grass—later identified as carrying Blue Silver Emperor bloodline—and the Clear Sky Hammer inherited from the Clear Sky Sect. 20

His early Blue Silver Grass cultivation followed Yu Xiaogang’s control-system route. Tang San’s first ring came from a Mandala Snake and granted Binding, combining restraint with the spirit beast’s toughness and paralytic venom. 20

Tang San later surpassed the ring-age limits promoted by Yu Xiaogang. His third Human-Faced Demon Spider ring exceeded the stated limit and produced an external spirit bone, while his fourth ring was a ten-thousand-year Earth Cave Spider Emperor ring absorbed at the Spirit Ancestor stage. 5 20

After becoming a god, Tang San’s need for Shrek is cited as the reason the academy was secretly preserved and eventually became a continental center of power. The Tang Sect he established later supplied hidden weapons to the Douluo coalition during its war against the Sun Moon Empire, though those weapons were portrayed as inferior to the empire’s soul guidance technology. 1

Personality

The novel presents Tang San through an openly hostile lens. He is accused of applying a double standard in combat: injuring opponents himself while treating harm done to Xiao Wu as a “path to death,” including the use of hidden weapons against others. 1

Xiao Changge and Electrolux characterize Tang San’s era as one in which Shrek-aligned nobles retained power after Spirit Hall’s destruction. They blame the lack of spirit-awakening access and subsidies for commoner spirit masters on the post–Spirit Hall order dominated by Tang San. 9 11
