Background / History
Tang San arrived in Suotuo City with Xiao Wu and intended to attend Shrek Academy on Yu Xiaogang's recommendation. When Dai Mubai threatened Zhu Zhuqing and insulted Xiao Wu, Tang San tried to remove Xiao Wu from the dispute rather than risk conflict with a possible future schoolmate. His hesitation disappointed Xiao Wu. 20
Qin Jiuxiao exposed Tang Hao's identity as Tang San's father, making Xiao Wu fear that Tang Hao had recognized her as a hundred-thousand-year soul beast. Tang San admitted Tang Hao was his father, then watched Xiao Wu choose to remain with Qin Jiuxiao's group instead. 22 23
Qin Jiuxiao subsequently used a fabricated story to prompt Tang San into saying that he would seek a human-form hundred-thousand-year soul beast's soul ring and soul bone. Xiao Wu broke off their relationship after hearing his answer. 24
Tang San attacked Qin Jiuxiao with poison-tipped steel needles and Tang Sect techniques, but Qin countered the needles, overwhelmed him in close combat, and forced him to flee with a Mist Bomb. 25 He later suffered repeated misfortunes after declaring that Qin had “embarked on the Path to Death,” including defeat and humiliation at Bu Le's hands. 29 30
After Tang Hao confirmed that he was a Title Douluo, Tang San asked his father to retaliate against Qin Jiuxiao. Tang Hao confronted Qin but was ultimately forced to flee after detonating several spirit rings. 31 35
Tang San entered Shrek Academy through Flender's paid shortcut to the final assessment. He was unable to join Qin Jiuxiao's team against Zhao Wuji, then became Zhao's sole target after the others passed; Oscar later treated his injuries. 47 49 51 52
Seeking materials for the Dragon Whisker Needle, Tang San traded altered Tang Sect manuals to Qin Jiuxiao for a crystal. The crystal had been hollowed out and filled with foul water; when Tang San smashed it, he and several nearby Shrek students were drenched. 65 68
Personality
Tang San is proud of his reincarnated status, Tang Sect inheritance, and perceived destiny. Defeats by Qin Jiuxiao repeatedly provoke jealousy, resentment, and vows of future revenge. 29 31 53 68
He is cautious in combat and willing to use concealed weapons, poison, ambushes, and deliberately flawed manuals to obtain an advantage. However, his reliance on preparation becomes a weakness when his weapons are depleted or his opponent cannot be bound by Blue Silver Grass. 25 30 65
His attachment to Xiao Wu is intense, but his efforts to keep her close conflict with his pursuit of power. His answer regarding a human-form soul beast's soul ring and bone ends their former bond. 23 24
