The Red Iron Dragon raised his head slightly. His slit pupils first swept over the enormous black wolf standing atop the blood moon, then surveyed the blood-red space around him.
In every direction, the heavens and the sea of stars were steeped in crimson light.
As far as his eyes could reach, even the most distant stars were stained dark red.
I'm still in the material world-
Of that, Garos was certain.
Had he been dragged into the Outer Planes, he would not have felt this familiar restraint and oppression from the Prime Material Plane. In the Outer Planes, he would have had no chance against an Intermediate Deity like the Lord of Black Blood.
But the Lord of Black Blood did not possess that ability either.
As for this place-it feels a little like a domain.
Garos considered this inwardly.
Of all the planes, the Prime Material Plane imposed the harshest rules on immortal life and deities.
If the target refused to cooperate, even if they were merely an ordinary mortal too weak to truss a chicken, forcibly taking them from the material world
to the Outer Planes was extraordinarily difficult.
Garos himself was an immortal life-form.
Even a Greater Deity could not have taken him into the Outer Planes without his noticing.
The Lord of Black Blood certainly could not.
Besides, Garos felt none of the freedom from restraint, none of the full release of his power that would have come with reaching the Outer Planes.
Quite the opposite.
Under the surrounding crimson light, beyond the oppression the material world already imposed on immortal life, he felt an additional, crushing weight, as though an invisible mountain had descended over his head and settled upon him.
Even the golden coating formed across his body
