Sky Orchid Mountain, Taizhou's foremost mountain, was steep and rugged. Many places bore protruding white shelves, smooth and lustrous as jade; combined with the grasses and trees growing from cracks in the rocks, they looked from afar like clumps of blooming orchids.

More wondrous still, faint wisps of orchid fragrance truly lingered throughout the range, as though heaven and earth had fashioned an ocean of orchids from stone.

Yu Chen slowly opened his eyes atop Sky Orchid Mountain. Amid crisp, chiming sounds, faint strands of radiance emerged around him. One body god after another sat within that light, guarding Yu Chen at the center.

"So this was the path of battle?"

Carefully sensing the minute wounds within his body and the surrounding vital energy that was nearly frozen solid, Yu Chen could not help pressing a hand to his temple.

With a slight frown, Yu Chen immediately understood that this was the lingering consciousness carried by the physical body affecting him. He silently drew a breath and slowly circulated his blood and qi.

The surging blood and qi within Yu Chen's body, nourished by the mana he had brought with him, were like the great waves of the Yangtze River—one wave after another, each crest swallowing the last—unceasingly washing through his extraordinary meridians, eight channels, and acupoints throughout his body.

The body gods that had only just begun to take shape continuously melted away within the tide of blood and qi, becoming scattered points of lingering radiance before gathering once more at the center to form brand-new body gods.

These body gods were unlike those of the past and could not grant Yu Chen many extraordinary abilities, but each was remarkably harmonious, helping him maintain the stability of his blood and qi circulation to the greatest extent possible.
