Background and Nature
The Universe Ocean lies beyond the Primal Universe and is boundless on a scale countless times greater than it. Its void is filled with mist-like chaotic airflow: the energy source of universes, whose ambient pressure can annihilate even a peak King-level immortal. 406
It is inhabited and contested by powers from three reincarnation eras, including the Primal Universe’s factions, the Eastern Emperor and Purple Moon Holy Lands, the God Eye Race, the Skeleton Race, and the Ancestral God Cult. Most non-Primal-Universe factions are overseen by one or more Universe Supreme Masters. 407 463
The Ocean is a place of both opportunity and attrition. Its dangerous regions yield supreme treasures, inheritances, and true god-level treasures, but its environment can be more lethal than hostile experts; even Masters of the Universe have fallen there permanently. 406 411 543
Geography and Traversal
Entry from the Primal Universe
The Toa Black Hole serves as an entrance into the Universe Ocean. Passing through it exposes travelers to a devouring force capable of instantly annihilating a Universe Venerable. 406
Beyond the Toa Black Hole is a region containing thirty-nine natural wormholes. Ice Peak Master uses shattered miniature universes and other landmarks as reference points while guiding Lu Qingshan through this area. 406
Natural Wormholes
Natural wormholes are the principal means of long-distance travel.
- A normal Universe Master’s teleportation distance is reduced to roughly 10,000 light-years per jump by the Ocean’s harsh environment, despite being able to teleport a million light-years at a time under normal conditions. 406
- Natural wormholes can carry travelers across tens of billions of light-years in a single passage. 406
- The Human Race has recorded the endpoints of many wormholes over endless exploration, allowing its upper echelons to plan routes. 406
- Losing one’s bearings is a critical danger; a lost avatar may have to be abandoned along with its carried treasures. 406
- The Human Race’s most detailed Universe Ocean map is restricted to its upper echelons. Even Universe Master-level Hong Alliance allies receive only a limited portion of it. 406
Three Great Perilous Lands
The Ocean’s most valuable opportunities are concentrated in three major danger zones:
| Perilous Land | Known Characteristics |
|---|---|
| Universe Boat | A ruined black vessel tens of millions of light-years tall and more than a hundred million light-years long, marked by purple patterns, cracks, and breaches. It can devour parts of miniature universes. 407 |
| Tilted Peak Realm | One of the three great perilous lands and a destination for Human Race expeditions. 543 672 |
| Flowing Heavy Mountain | One of the three great perilous lands where peak and even supreme treasures may emerge. 543 |
Peak treasures appear periodically within these lands, while supreme treasures have also emerged there during the current reincarnation era. 543
Factions and Reincarnation Eras
The Universe Ocean’s factions pursue strength not only for treasures and territory, but also to survive the end of their reincarnation era and establish a new Holy Land Universe. 407
- Primal Universe factions — Include the Human Race and its Hong Alliance. The Human Race’s experts often gather wherever Giant Axe Creator is exploring, compensating for their comparatively limited number of Universe Ocean adventurers. 407
- First and Second Reincarnation Eras — Their surviving powers include races and lone Universe Supreme Masters whose original universes have already passed through destruction. 407 463
- Eastern Emperor Holy Land and Purple Moon Holy Land — Holy Land Universes that have transcended reincarnation. 407 506
- God Eye Race — A major First Reincarnation Era force with seven Universe Supreme Masters. 407
- Skeleton Race — A powerful faction whose experts compete in the Ocean’s dangerous regions and treasure struggles. 407 463
Even members of the same race from different reincarnation eras do not necessarily share allegiance. When treasure interests conflict, they may fight as enemies. 411
Hazards
- Chaotic airflow — Ambient chaotic currents exert pressure sufficient to kill peak King-level immortals; they become especially destructive around massive or fast-moving objects. 406 699
- Uncharted environments — A strange vortex outside the Human Race’s maps once trapped Lu Qingshan for decades; he escaped only through a pinnacle palace-type supreme treasure. 469
- Native dangers — The Universe Boat contains regions and creatures dangerous enough to pursue a powerful expert for years. 469
- Treasure conflicts — The appearance of high-grade, peak, and supreme treasures routinely draws rival Masters of the Universe and Universe Supreme Masters into battle. 411 543
- Permanent loss — Avatars improve survival odds, but their destruction still costs divine power and carried treasures; Masters of the Universe without avatars face far greater risks. 408 495
