Asking Ino for Help

Sū Bai watched the interaction between the master and student with cold eyes, neither approving nor disapproving.

It made him feel a little uncomfortable.

"This young man has great potential!"

After finishing with his student, Guy turned to Sū Bai, his eyes full of admiration.

"What is your name?"

"My name is Sū Bai of the Moonlight Clan," Sū Bai replied respectfully.

"To reach this level at such a young age is truly no easy feat."

Sū Bai smiled faintly but said nothing.

Afraid of hurting Rock Lee's pride, Guy did not say anything further.

He had seen Rock Lee's efforts and remembered them well.

Rock Lee had already put in one hundred and twenty percent effort to reach his current level of taijutsu.

But what about Sū Bai?

He was a member of the Moonlight Clan, wasn't he?

The Moonlight Clan specialized in swordsmanship; taijutsu was merely secondary!

If Rock Lee used the Eight Gates, he might be able to defeat him.

But Sū Bai most likely had his own trump card that he had not used either.

"How is your teacher, Kakashi?"

Sū Bai knew that this seemingly scatterbrained fellow was actually terrifyingly strong.

His own strength was still far inferior to Guy's.

"You know Kakashi-sensei?" Naruto spoke first.

Then, Might Guy vanished from where he stood.

Sū Bai immediately looked behind himself and saw that Guy had already arrived at their backs.

Guy was shocked to find that Sū Bai could actually keep up with his speed. "Yes, Kakashi's students truly are strong. As expected of my eternal rival."

"Kakashi and I are known as eternal archrivals."

Only when they heard his voice from behind did Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura react.

"Impossible, he was way too fast! He might even be faster than Kakashi. He's practically inhuman!" Sasuke broke out in a cold sweat as he exclaimed.

And Sū Bai?

He seemed to have turned around the moment Guy moved.

"I'm even stronger than Kakashi. The current score is fifty-one to fifty, with me in the lead."

After introducing himself, Guy left.

Rock Lee also prepared to leave.

Before departing, he turned to Sū Bai and said, "I'm sorry. I lied before. Konoha's strongest ninja is actually on our team, and I must defeat him. Please go easy on me during the exams."

Sū Bai knew he was referring to his teammate, Neji Hyuga.

But Rock Lee's words struck a nerve with Naruto and Sasuke.

Having been defeated by Rock Lee one after another, they had long been unable to let go of the frustration in their hearts.

They had never expected a mere thick-browed guy to defeat them both so easily.

Rather than crushing them, this setback ignited Naruto and Sasuke's fighting spirit.

They secretly swore that they would wash away this humiliation in the Chunin Exams and never lose to anyone again.

Sū Bai watched coldly and said nothing.

After returning home, Sū Bai silently considered his next move.

Although Rock Lee had disrupted things today, it had not been a waste of time.

The Chunin Exams were what truly mattered next.

In the original story, this written test could be passed even by handing in a blank paper.

As long as they answered the examiner's tenth question, they could pass.

Sakura and Sasuke were not a concern.

They would surely understand the meaning of the test quickly.

But Naruto was different.

That guy was terrible at studying. Expecting him to pass the written test on his own was nothing but a fool's dream.

And he had no good way to cheat by copying answers.

If he copied poorly and got caught, he could easily cause Team 7 to lose its qualification for the exam.

That absolutely could not happen!

He needed to find a way to reduce Naruto's psychological torment and prevent him from voluntarily giving up on the exam.

Sū Bai thought of someone: Ino.

Ino's Mind Body Switch Technique could allow her to switch bodies with Naruto after obtaining the answers.

Once they switched bodies, she could help Naruto complete his paper and pass the test.

With that in mind, Sū Bai got up and left the house, heading straight for Ino's home.

The next day, Team 7 arrived at the exam venue on time.

The moment they entered, they saw the classroom packed with ninjas from various villages.

They all turned around in unison, their gazes sharp as they stared fixedly at Sū Bai and the others.

Just then, Sū Bai felt a weight on his back. Ino had appeared from nowhere and pounced onto him.

He felt two soft mounds rubbing and pressing against his back.

"Oh, Sū Bai, it's been so long! I missed you so much~" Ino said in a cutesy voice.

"You dead pig, take your filthy hands off him!"

The instant Sakura saw Ino hugging Sū Bai, she exploded.

Ino shot Sakura a sidelong glance and said disdainfully, "Oh, isn't this Ugly Sakura? Look at that giant forehead of yours. You're even uglier than before!"

"Say that again!"

Sakura was furious enough to feel smoke coming out of her ears. She wanted nothing more than to rush over and tear Ino's mouth apart.

"I went on a date with Sū Bai last night," Ino continued provoking Sakura without the slightest concern.

Sū Bai recalled what had happened the previous night.

He had gone downstairs to Ino's home to ask for her help.

Sū Bai told her that Naruto truly needed her help to get through the test.

After learning why Sū Bai had come, Ino agreed.

She only asked that he go on a date with her that day.

Sū Bai had no choice. Since he was asking someone for help, it was only fair for them to make a request.

So Ino went back to change clothes and dress herself up beautifully before the two went on their date.

Nothing particularly special happened during the date.

They simply had a meal and chatted.

Only, Ino had tried a few times to take his hand without making it obvious, but he dodged each time.

What Sū Bai did not know was that the somewhat oblivious Ino merely assumed he was shy.

At that moment, Shikamaru and Choji entered as well.

Soon afterward, Shino, Kiba, and Hinata arrived one after another.

Naruto excitedly danced around, noisily greeting everyone.

Hinata secretly glanced at Sū Bai, her cheeks faintly flushing as though she were a little shy.

Just then, a silver-haired young man with glasses appeared from nowhere.

"Hey, aren't you guys being a little too conspicuous?"

The newcomer pushed up his glasses and spoke in a bland tone.

"My name is Yakushi Kabuto. I've collected intelligence on the ninjas from every village. Interested in taking a look?"

Sū Bai thought to himself that in the original story, Yakushi Kabuto was Orochimaru's confidant and no decent person.

But for now, he had to disguise himself as a Konoha ninja and would not reveal his identity.

Gale had been killed after being discovered eavesdropping on Kabuto's conversation with a Sunagakure jonin.

There was no need for Sū Bai to expose his identity now either.

Sū Bai would do nothing that could possibly cause the Chunin Exams to be interrupted.

He needed to reach 10% fusion during the Chunin Exams and obtain Ryujin Jakka's Shikai.

And the first thing he would do after gaining its Shikai would be to cleave that Sunagakure jonin alive!

While he could not make too big a scene, he could still make Yakushi Kabuto suffer a little.

So Sū Bai quietly said to Naruto, "Naruto, look at those ninjas from the other villages. They seem to be looking down on us."

Naruto understood. He stood up and shouted, "Listen up, I'm Naruto Uzumaki! None of you guys will ever defeat me!"

His provocation immediately caused an uproar in the examination hall.

Quite a few ninjas from other villages rose to their feet, looking ready to fight at any moment.

Everyone's attention was drawn to Naruto.

Seeing this, Sū Bai quickly went to Ino's side and whispered a few words to her.

The girl blinked at Sū Bai, signaling that she understood.

She swiftly formed hand seals, activated the Mind Body Switch Technique, and collapsed into Sū Bai's arms.

With a buzz, a Sound ninja was struck.

Controlling that unlucky man's body, Ino shouted to his teammates, "Konoha's ninjas are too arrogant. Teach that guy with glasses a lesson!"
