May 6 was a Thursday, and the first workday after the May Day holiday.
Inside Source Intelligence's headquarters, the returning office drones were slowly getting back into gear, while their colleagues who had volunteered for holiday duty seemed rather energized.
In the break room, Li Ting brewed tea while chatting with a bright-eyed Jiang Yixin.
She had come across a video somewhere yesterday claiming that milk tea made with black tea and fresh milk tasted better than anything sold outside. Today, she had decided to make some for her milk tea buddies to try.
"Boss Jiang, where did you go over the holiday?"
"Nowhere. I stayed home catching up on anime and playing games."
Jiang Yixin stood beside Li Ting, watching her brew the tea.
Before May Day, Su Niannian had granted her three extra days of paid leave as a reward for the Glutinous Rice Ball Chat project. Including the holiday, Jiang Yixin had enjoyed eight whole days off.
Of course, subtracting the half day she had unexpectedly worked on May 3 left seven and a half.

For the first three days, she had taken advantage of the quieter weekdays to explore the city. Once the May Day holiday began, however, Haicheng was packed with people: schoolchildren set loose and tourists from all over the country. It was hardly a good time to go out. So Jiang Yixin had invited her best friend Liu Haoyu over, and the two homebodies had happily finished Split Fiction in Boss Jiang's new Talent Apartment, then revisited some old anime from their college days.
