"What the fuck was that?"
Looking at the thing he had blasted into something like meat paste, Lu Xingyuan fell silent.
He had no idea how many bullets he had fired.
He only knew he had kept shooting the thing for a full three minutes.
Fuck, it was just a 222-month-old baby. Getting startled like that out of nowhere, of course he was going to overreact, right?
"This looks like a zombie..."
After carefully examining it, Lu Xingyuan had basically confirmed its identity.
That was right. A zombie.
It had apparently been hiding behind the service counter, planning to ambush him. What it had never expected was that this young man's martial virtue was so abundant that he fired bullets as though they cost nothing.
"There shouldn't be any danger left."
Holding his gun, he scanned every corner. Only after confirming it was safe did Lu Xingyuan's taut nerves finally relax. As he gulped in air, he could even hear his own heart hammering wildly.
"Fuck! Wasn't that more nerve-racking and exciting than Fortune's Losing Streak?"
Not daring to waste too much time, Lu Xingyuan quickly opened the chest.
After all, the train only stopped for an hour. If he failed to board before it departed, he would be stuck at this station forever.
[Level 1 Chest] [Description: Guarantees basic survival supplies and materials; there is a small chance of additionally obtaining equipment, blueprints, or rare materials.]
Open.
Five items appeared before Lu Xingyuan.
A 500-gram bag of raisin toast.
A 500-milliliter bottle of Pepsi.
50 units of wood.
10 units of metal.
And a silver coin stamped with the image of a train.
[Train Coin] [Description: The universal currency of the Train Survival World, with a wide variety of uses.]
Lu Xingyuan had no time to study them further and immediately carried the materials back into the carriage.
"Fuck, I should've brought the chest onto the train before opening it. I'm such an idiot."
It took several trips to move everything over, mainly because the wood and metal were both heavy.
Checking the time and seeing that there were only about ten minutes left before departure, Lu Xingyuan gritted his teeth and forced himself to search the service station for more supplies.
He could ignore things like windshield wipers and fuel additives, but toilet paper and laundry detergent were still quite useful. He was utterly broke now, so any supplies were better than none.
Finally, with three minutes left before departure, Lu Xingyuan climbed aboard. Exhausted like a dead dog, he collapsed onto the floor and gasped for breath.
After resting for a while, he got up, took a few sips of cola, and ate two slices of toast. Only then did he feel much better.
Now it was time to take stock of his loot.
Besides the supplies from the chest, Lu Xingyuan had also gathered ten packs of toilet paper, ten bottles of Blue Moon laundry detergent, and three metal racks used for displaying goods—they counted as metal too and could be used to upgrade the train.
[The train is moving. Please sit tight and hold on!]
With the sound of the whistle, the train that had been standing still started up once more, continuing forward along tracks that stretched endlessly beyond sight.
Messages in the chat channel also began flooding in.
"Fuck, we're finally setting off. Right outside my window, two zombies are wandering around aimlessly. Even though the train is under protection, I'm still scared shitless."
"Did any of you get off at the platform to scavenge supplies?"
"I did! Maybe I was lucky, because I didn't run into any danger. But the resources on the platform were really crap. I only found a few bottles of mineral water."
"Hehe! This is going to scare the shit out of you all—I found a chest! It had a lot of good stuff inside!"
"Holy shit! Seriously? You actually ran into a chest?"
Lu Xingyuan did not have much of a reaction to that message.
Among 100,000 train conductors, he definitely was not the only one with a powerful talent!
Talents were absolutely the key to gaining an advantage early on. Without Infinite Firepower backing him up, he would not have dared to get off the train so rashly.
Of course, just as the game had said at the beginning, this was a game of luck. No matter how good your talent was, it could not compare to being favored by the goddess of luck.
The second stop would not arrive until twenty-four hours later. For Lu Xingyuan, who could only pass the time in the chat channel, that was truly hard to endure.
He had originally planned to look at the scenery outside through the window to relieve his boredom, but unfortunately discovered that there was only an endless wasteland outside. The scenery seemed frozen, utterly unchanged. "Is this still Earth?"
The windows were sealed shut and could not be rolled down. Even getting a bit of fresh air had become a luxury.
Perhaps it was to stop mentally fragile train conductors from jumping out the windows to kill themselves, but wasn't that another kind of torture?
As his thoughts wandered, drowsiness washed over him. Lu Xingyuan soon lay down on the cold floor and fell asleep.
So many sudden changes had taken a tremendous toll on both his body and mind.
Who knew how much time had passed when Lu Xingyuan suddenly sat bolt upright like a corpse coming back to life.
"Ah... my Fortune's Losing Streak."
Other train conductors missed their fathers, mothers, and all kinds of relatives, but as an orphan, the only thing Lu Xingyuan kept thinking about was that unfinished match.
He checked the time and found that it was already past seven in the evening.
He had slept for quite a while. His arms were still a little sore, probably from firing the gun. As a shut-in, he really did lack exercise.
After simply eating two slices of raisin toast and taking a small sip of water, Lu Xingyuan finally entered the chat channel.
The messages from a few hours ago had been rather chaotic.
Some were demanding to be released: "Stop this prank! I don't have time to fool around with you!"
Some were looking for their fathers, mothers, grandfathers, grandmothers, and all sorts of relatives: "Where's my husband?"
Others wanted to dominate the new world: "I, Zihan, shall suppress all ages and sweep through an era! Hehehe!"
But as time passed, the demands of the train conductors gradually became more unified.
"Water! Who has water? I haven't had a drink in seven or eight fucking hours. I'm about to die of thirst."
"Could some kind person give me some food? I'm so hungry I can barely walk."
"I want Haidilao, northeastern barbecue skewers, and Tastien mini burgers! Waaah!"
Hmm, it felt like something was missing.
"An innocent 18-year-old female college student is willing to trade her unwashed panties, worn for three days straight, for water and food. Interested big brothers can private message me."
Now that was more like it.
Lu Xingyuan nodded in satisfaction.
How could a survival world be complete without girls trading their various unwashed items for water and food?
"I originally had a bottle of water, but some bastard traded for it with ridiculously fast hands. I'll remember him for the rest of my life!"
Who was it? So cruel! I'll draw a circle and curse him for you, okay?
Feeling a little guilty, Lu Xingyuan closed the chat channel and began exercising inside the carriage.
