Background / History

Alice manifested when Lu Xingyuan opened the Abyss Magic Box, an item previously tampered with by the Abyssal Maid. The box's release nearly crushed the carriage under its pressure before leaving behind Alice in place of the box. 101 113

She remembers neither who named her nor where she came from. Her only clear memory is of being confined alone in a tiny, dark room. Frightened of being returned there, she begged Lu not to abandon her; he accepted her as his daughter, promised to care for her, and fed her when she was hungry. 113

The Abyssal Maid later sensed power she recognized as belonging to her missing lord and concluded that the Abyss Magic Box had taken the Abyss Sovereign away. This makes Alice's apparent status as a discarded Abyss child uncertain. 224

Lu initially tried to keep Alice away from danger, assigning her to guard the train instead of joining platform expeditions. She accepted the duty seriously, vowing to protect the train because it was as important as Lu's life. 144

As Alice absorbed Abyss-compatible materials and fruits, her strength, forms, and aura rapidly developed.
