Background / History

Morgan was once a hot-blooded Marine who believed in justice. Two years before the Dusk Pirates attacked Shells Town, he encountered Kuro and was hypnotized by Jango. Under the hypnosis, Morgan mistook a dead Marine for Kuro, reported the pirate’s death, and was promoted to colonel of the G-153 Branch. 29 30

The fabricated achievement and prolonged hypnosis changed him into a tyrannical commander. He ruled Shells Town through fear, dismissed weak subordinates as worthless, and allowed the branch to oppress the town. 18 28 29

When Kael assaulted G-153, Morgan confronted him on the base rooftop. Tashigi restrained Morgan with Bakudō #10: Hōrin, after which Kael brutally recreated elements of Kuro’s past humiliation until Morgan’s suppressed memories resurfaced. 28 29 30

After learning the truth, Morgan accepted Kael’s offer to join the Dusk Pirates rather than face imprisonment for his actions as branch commander. Kael then loaded the Yakumo Omori character template into him, granting him kagune and regenerative abilities. 30 31

Appearance

Morgan is a broad, burly man with blond hair, an artificial metal jaw, and a prosthetic arm fitted with a giant axe. 26 28 29

Personality

During his time as G-153’s commander, Morgan was arrogant, cruel, and obsessed with being feared. He showed open contempt for his own soldiers and considered anyone unable to stop pirates unworthy of being called his subordinate. 28

After recovering the memories Jango’s hypnosis had suppressed, he became frightened, remorseful, and desperate for redemption. He follows Kael’s orders without question and responds eagerly to promises of rewards or further power. 30 39

Assault on the G-153 Marine Branch

Morgan serves as the final defender of the G-153 Branch during the Dusk Pirates’ raid. He dismisses his defeated soldiers, confronts Kael and Tashigi on the rooftop, and refuses Kael’s initial demand to surrender. 28

Recovery of His Memories

Kael reveals that Morgan’s supposed victory over Kuro was a hypnosis-induced lie. After Tashigi restrains him, Kael’s violent “treatment” forces Morgan to recall Jango’s hypnosis and the truth behind Kuro’s escape. 29 30

Joining the Dusk Pirates

Faced with the consequences of his rule over Shells Town, Morgan chooses to join Kael’s crew in pursuit of redemption. He assists in confiscating the G-153 Branch’s valuables before receiving Yakumo Omori’s template. 30 31

Krieg Pirates Conflict

Morgan joins Kael and Tashigi against Krieg’s fleet. He uses his kagune to repel Gin, then receives orders to supervise Gin, recover the Krieg Pirates’ assets, and sell the disabled warships. 38 39
