Background

Dai Mubai is the third prince of the Star Luo Empire and was fleeing from its succession struggle when he reached the Heaven Dou region. He later became a Shrek Academy student and captain of its team. 27 63

After fleeing Star Luo, Dai lost access to royal support and invested most of his remaining possessions into Shrek's attempt to acquire Whale Glue Pellets. His decision to give Qian Ni the Rose Hotel's final room was motivated by the payment involved and his need for cultivation resources. 18 19 20

He was engaged to Zhu Zhuqing, but their relationship is fractured and has effectively become that of former fiancés. Zhuqing rejects his attempts to involve himself in her affairs, condemning his conduct after she sought him out and found him living indulgently in Heaven Dou. 23 124

When Qian Ni arrived at Suotuo City, Dai offered him his only available room at the Rose Hotel after seeing the payment involved. 18 His later challenge against Qian, driven by jealousy and wounded pride over Zhuqing, ended in overwhelming defeat and severe humiliation. 23 24 25
