Background / History
Phoenix Nirvana and Fu Xi’s Upbringing
Di Tian accompanies Gu Yuena when crimson-gold flames descend into the Star Dou Great Forest. He asks whether they belong to the Phoenix God-King and joins the beasts supplying Soul Power to the fire. When the flames produce a child, he initially questions the result, then wonders who could have reduced a God-King to such a state 1.
As Fu Xi grows, Di Tian becomes an affectionate elder and practical attendant. He finds soul beasts for Fu Xi’s early Soul Rings, choosing abilities that improve Soul Power and survival because Fu Xi’s innate flames already provide considerable offensive strength. After hearing Fu Xi’s new skills, his admiration shifts from the Silver Dragon King to Fu Xi 5 6.
Bringing Human Companions to Star Dou
Gu Yuena assigns Di Tian to find a human teacher and companions for Fu Xi. The prospect of him collecting Wu Feng alarms Ning Tian, who fears that even minor friction with Di Tian could destroy the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Sect 7 8.
With the Myriad Demon King’s assistance, Di Tian captures Zhang Lexuan, Xiao Xiao, Tang Ya, Jiang Nannan, Ma Xiaotao, and Ling Luochan without alerting Shrek Academy. He presents them as Fu Xi’s “playthings” and demands that they serve and accompany the young master. When Ma Xiaotao protests and Zhang Lexuan summons her martial soul, he attacks both; Bi Ji subsequently takes over their introduction to life in Star Dou 16.
Douluo III and the Soul Beasts’ Petition
The Douluo III Di Tian meets Fu Xi in a devastated Star Dou Great Forest, where only the core region remains amid Spirit Pagoda fortresses. He apologizes for failing to rescue Gu Sanna and kneels before Fu Xi, begging the Phoenix God-King to strengthen the soul beast lineage 41.
Fu Xi reassures him that he does not blame him and assigns the soul beast race to protect the future World Tree. Di Tian then places himself between Fu Xi, Gu Sanna, and an unexpected spatial rift, only relaxing when told that the arriving Gu Yuenas are allies 41.
Shrek City Assault and Ascension
Fu Xi assigns the three Di Tians and the other soul beasts to confront Douluo III’s quasi-gods and Titled Douluos. Di Santian leads the advance toward Shrek, regarding the battle as repayment for generations of suffering inflicted on soul beasts 44 46.
Di Ertian seals the human experts and shields Di Santian, but Di Santian requests an unprotected battle. He admits that hatred and the Dragon God’s final command have repeatedly clouded his leadership, and seeks atonement by clearing the remaining obstacles for Fu Xi. Fu Xi permits the fight but orders him to return alive 46 47.
Facing six opponents, Di Santian uses feints, the Golden Dragon Spear, the Dragon God’s Claw, and life-burning attacks to defeat five. Remembering Fu Xi’s command, he drains vitality through the spear rather than accepting death. Xi then grants him Immortal Physique, and he survives to ascend as a first-class god 47 48.
After the conflict, Di Tian cripples Tang Hao’s cultivation and throws him into the Mating Ape Clan 52.
Appearance
- Human form: Wears a large black robe with gold stripes 1.
- Dragon form: Di Santian becomes a black dragon hundreds of meters long 46 48.
- Battle transformation: Black scales cover Di Santian’s arm and later his entire body as he unleashes his full strength 47.
Personality
Di Tian’s devotion to Fu Xi combines reverence with familial affection. He kneels before him as “Young Master,” eagerly accepts his requests, and is visibly delighted by small gestures of gratitude. His enthusiasm can become excessive: he treats abducted human companions as possessions supplied for Fu Xi’s amusement 6 16.
His kindness toward Fu Xi contrasts sharply with his treatment of perceived enemies. He violently punishes disrespect and supports bloody retaliation against humanity. Di Santian also recognizes the failures beneath that anger, admitting that hatred has repeatedly led the soul beast race into danger 16 46 47.
Di Santian’s willingness to die is ultimately checked by loyalty rather than fear. Recalling Fu Xi’s instruction to survive makes him resume fighting when he has already begun accepting his death 48.
