Fifteen experience points was a bit absurd. It looked like these undead creatures were not very strong. If Skeletor wiped out a dozen skeleton soldiers or a few zombies like this, then a few hundred experience points would be within reach.

Rod was very satisfied with Brother Qiang's valiant performance. Those 2,500 units of gold had been well spent!

"Great Master! I sense more undead creatures nearby. Shall I clear them all out?" Thanks to a death knight's sensitivity to undead auras, Skeletor could clearly sense a huge number of undead creatures within the town.

"Roughly how many are there? Are you confident you can handle them?" Rod asked.

Clearing out these undead creatures would be good. At the very least, it would make this ruined town safe for the time being, allowing Rod to quietly build up his strength.

"A few hundred or so. As for eliminating them, that will not be a problem, Master.

"They are merely low-level infected undead creatures. Their combat strength is not even on par with ordinary skeleton soldiers," Skeletor said.

Dealing with these wild undead creatures was effortless and pleasant for a powerful death knight hero like him.

"Mm! Take the zombie troops with you. It'll be safer that way," Rod said with a nod.

Rod was fairly reassured by Skeletor's current combat strength. If he took the zombie troops along, then even if something happened, a hero with soldiers under his command would have nothing to fear.

Skeletor nodded and left directly with twenty walking corpses. After he departed, Rod began receiving system notifications nonstop!

A glorious victory! You gained 20 experience points!

A glorious victory! You gained 30 experience points!

A glorious victory! You gained 28 experience points!

In just one short hour, Skeletor had thoroughly cleaned out the ruined town.

After clearing out all the undead creatures in the town, Skeletor returned to Rod's residence.

More than three hundred undead creatures had also earned Skeletor over three hundred experience points toward leveling up.

Moreover, thanks to the Necropolis faction hero's Necromancy, Skeletor brought Rod thirty skeleton soldiers, increasing Rod's skeleton soldier count to over sixty.

The Necropolis faction really did grow stronger the more it fought! The skeleton soldiers converted through Necromancy were simply too satisfying and cost-effective.

"Reporting to the Great Master, I have cleared out all wild undead creatures in the town. The town is now safe, and Master may move about freely," Skeletor said.

"I understand, Skeletor. While you were exploring the town, did you discover anything controlling these undead creatures? For example, a necromancer?" Rod asked.

With so many undead appearing in this town, Rod suspected there should be someone nearby controlling them.

"Great Master, I did not sense the presence of a necromancer. Furthermore, these undead creatures were not created through death magic.

"I can sense that these undead creatures were originally residents of this town. They must have consumed some grain carrying a plague virus, which turned them into undead," Skeletor said.

"Grain carrying a plague virus!"

"That is correct, Master! While clearing out the town's undead, I happened upon a grain storage warehouse.

"There was grain inside that had been contaminated by the undead virus. If ordinary mortals ate this grain, they would immediately be transformed into low-level undead creatures," Skeletor said.

Rod nodded upon hearing this. Contaminated grain—the undead outside had all been transformed from villagers!

"Skeletor, take me to the grain warehouse you found," Rod said.

Skeletor nodded and immediately led Rod to a grain warehouse in the center of town.

Rod looked around. A fierce battle had clearly broken out here earlier. There were several corpses nearby—not undead creatures, but more than a dozen soldiers clad head to toe in iron armor, dressed somewhat like human crusaders.

Rod stepped forward to inspect them. Before these soldiers in full iron armor had died, they had taken down a considerable number of undead.

Could I have been transported into the native world of Heroes of Might and Magic III? Were these people crusaders from Erathia?

That was not good news. This world was destined to be destroyed in the future. The collision between Frostmourne and Armageddon's Blade would cause the entire planet to collapse.

"Skeletor, are these people crusaders?"

"Master! These humans have decent combat strength, but they are only comparable to ordinary pikemen. They cannot even compare to true swordsmen, much less crusaders!" Skeletor said.

They were merely wearing a full suit of iron armor. Their physical capabilities were at most on the level of pikemen, barely putting them above the ranks of peasants.

But they could not compare with crusaders who had fought on battlefields for years and endured the harsh trials of war. If there had been more than a dozen crusaders here, low-level undead would not have been able to deal with them.

At the very least, there would have been some high-level undead creatures, such as wraiths or vampires.

Rod nodded at this and began carefully examining the soldiers' armor. He discovered that they were merely standard-issue suits, and their workmanship was not particularly refined.

While examining the soldiers' corpses, Rod found that they had likely died only a few days ago. Their bodies had not yet severely decayed.

Suddenly, Rod frowned. One soldier's shield bore a well-preserved crest: a blue background with a symbol resembling the letter L.

Rod felt he had seen this distinctive symbol somewhere before. After scrutinizing it closely, he remembered where.

As a veteran World of Warcraft enthusiast who had spent more than a decade adventuring through Azeroth,

Rod recognized it at a glance. It was a shield dropped in the Heroic Mode dungeon of The Culling of Stratholme—the Lordaeron Royal Crest Shield.

Although the shield's design was somewhat different, the symbol was exactly the same. You've got to be kidding me. Is this not the world of Heroes of Might and Magic III, but Azeroth instead?

Rod immediately checked several other soldiers' shields and found the same crest on every one. After carefully identifying their armor as well, he discovered characteristics of the Kingdom of Lordaeron.

A grain warehouse contaminated by the plague, villagers transformed into undead creatures—wasn't this part of a storyline in Warcraft III?

Lordaeron's prince, Arthas, the Alliance's filial son, had come to investigate the contaminated grain!

"Master! I sense the presence of living people nearby. They are heading in our direction," Skeletor suddenly said.

"How many are there? How strong are they?" Rod asked as he stood up.

"There are roughly a dozen. One is a mage, while another carries a power that makes me uncomfortable. As for their combat strength, I have not fought them, so I am unsure," Skeletor said.
