Background / History

The clan is based in a distinct compound within Konoha and is organized around a clan head, elders, branch leaders, core members, and branch-family disciples. Its council hall contains a seat traditionally reserved for the clan head. 1 7

Before Lin Chen’s rise, the clan’s treatment of its vulnerable members was deeply unequal. Lin Chen, an orphan whose parents died on a mission, was regarded as “trash” for failing to awaken even a three-tomoe Sharingan. Clan children abused him, elders ignored his suffering, and servants assigned him exhausting labor and beat him for mistakes. Branch-family disciple Uchiha Shan led the beating that killed the original Lin Chen. 1

The clan was also politically isolated within Konoha. Its members were suspected by the village’s upper ranks, while Danzo sought to eradicate the clan. Lin Chen warned Fugaku that this course would culminate in the clan’s extermination, with Fugaku dying at Itachi’s hands and only Itachi and Sasuke surviving. 4 6

Lin Chen’s Takeover

After Lin Chen’s appearance at Kannabi Bridge, Fugaku initially ordered the clan not to approach or disrespect him, fearing both his resentment and his unprecedented power. Clan records contained no entry for “Lin Chen,” despite his claim to be an abandoned Uchiha. 4

Following Root’s destruction, Fugaku personally apologized to Lin Chen and offered him any position within the clan. Lin Chen refused compensation, instead demanding authority over all clan affairs as the condition for preventing the clan’s future destruction. Fugaku accepted. 6

At the full clan assembly, Lin Chen seated himself in the clan head’s chair and declared control of the clan. Elders and members who objected were suppressed by his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan and spatial pressure until the assembly submitted. Fugaku remained responsible for daily administration and reorganization. 7

Rules under Lin Chen

1. Previous clan rules were abolished; members could no longer call others “abandoned child” or bully the weak. Violators would be expelled and severely punished.
2. The clan was forbidden from confronting Konoha’s upper ranks or plotting rebellion.
3. Clan affairs and resources were to be reorganized, with elite training prioritized and internal conflict prohibited.
4. Any elder or clansman who secretly opposed Lin Chen’s orders would be executed. 7

Role in Konoha

• Lin Chen’s protection ended the clan’s exclusion within Konoha. Villagers and Konoha’s leadership began treating the Uchiha with respect, while the clan integrated into village life and focused on development. 9 10
• The clan guarded Lin Chen’s residence and compound after an assassination attempt, and Uchiha elites joined Konoha’s ANBU in the operation against the Kaguya Remnants. 11
