|---|---|---|
| Ancient-era preeminence | 61, 163 | Under Clan Chief Xiao Xuan, the Xiao Clan ranked among the top two Ancient Eight Clans and was regarded as the continent's strongest faction. Xiao Xuan's late nine-star Dou Saint cultivation and Emperor Realm soul were the clan's central pillar. |
| Bloodline crisis and collapse | 164, 169 | The clan's Dou Emperor bloodline neared exhaustion. Its members pooled their bloodline power into Xiao Xuan's attempted ascent to Dou Di, but he reached only the unstable pseudo-Emperor realm; the bloodline did not return to the clansmen. |
| Wutan City decline | 3, 4 | Reduced to the “Xiao Family,” its strongest member was Clan Chief Xiao Zhan, a five-star Da Dou Shi. The clan's Dou Di bloodline was believed lost. |

History
Ancient era
Xiao Emperor founded the Xiao Clan and established the order of the Eight Ancient Clans. Before the clan's fall, its ancestral land contained the burial sites of generations of clan chiefs, elders, and Dou Saint experts. 170
Xiao Xuan became clan chief at a young age after displaying the purest Dou Emperor bloodline in the clan. He later reached the late nine-star Dou Saint realm and cultivated an Emperor Realm soul, leading the Xiao Clan to become the foremost power among the Ancient Eight Clans. 163
The clan's prosperity concealed a critical weakness: its Dou Emperor bloodline was steadily being depleted. With the Soul Clan becoming increasingly aggressive, the elders urged Xiao Xuan to gather the entire clan's bloodline power and attempt a breakthrough to Dou Di within the Heavenly Tomb. 164 165
The Soul Clan attacked during the ritual. Xiao Xuan could overwhelm Soul Clan Dou Saints, but Hun Tiandi exploited his need to defend the clansmen maintaining the formation. Xiao Xuan's breakthrough failed, leaving him only at the pseudo-Emperor realm while the clan's bloodline remained exhausted. 168 169
Decline into the Xiao Family
Following the destruction of the ancient Xiao Clan, its surviving line became known as the Xiao Family. By Xiao Yi's generation, it had settled in Wutan City; Xiao Zhan, the family head, was only a five-star Da Dou Shi. 3 4
The clan nevertheless retained hidden inheritances. Xiao Xuan's remnant soul awakened through Xiao Yi's storage ring, bringing knowledge of the clan's past and a determination to restore its standing. 3 10
Restoration
The Xiao Clan's recovery began with Xiao Yi's rise and the removal of Wutan City's rival clans. The family subsequently became Wutan City's dominant power before relocating to the Jia Ma Empire's imperial capital after the Misty Cloud Sect's fall. 46 133
At the imperial capital, Xiao Yi established the Nine Harmonies Alliance and placed the Xiao Clan at its center. The clan also gained exclusive control of the Life-and-Death Gate, which Xiao Xuan sealed so that only Xiao Clan members could use it for cultivation. 138 145
Xiao Yi later opened the long-sealed entrance to the Xiao Realm through his Xiao Clan Dou Emperor bloodline. The old realm was barren and close to collapse, but its ancestral land and Xiao Emperor's inheritance remained protected by bloodline-based restrictions. 163 170
Following Xiao Xuan's resurrection, Xiao Zhan led more than one hundred surviving clan members into the new Xiao Realm in the Central Plains. The clan unanimously asked Xiao Xuan to resume leadership, marking its public return after a thousand years of decline. 260 270

Inheritance and Resources
Dou Emperor Bloodline
The Xiao Clan's original Dou Emperor bloodline was depleted when Xiao Xuan gathered the clan's collective bloodline power for his failed breakthrough. Xiao Xuan preserved a final remnant of that bloodline, which Xiao Yi later inherited through a painful blood-replacement ritual. 103 112 115
The revived clan does not retain a communal Dou Di bloodline inheritance. Its present standing rests primarily on Xiao Xuan's strength and Xiao Yi's exceptional potential. 270
Clan Mark
Unlike the marks of the other ancient clans, a Xiao Clan mark must be cultivated personally rather than bestowed by elders. It can greatly enhance a user's Dou Qi and combat power. 284 356
Xiao Yi's mark evolved into an Emperor Mark due to his fusion of eight ancient Dou Emperor bloodlines, with the Xiao bloodline remaining dominant. 114 115
Ancestral Land
The Ancient Xiao Mountain Range contains the ancestral land personally created by Xiao Emperor. Its entrance can only be opened with exceptionally pure Xiao Clan bloodline power. 170
At its center is the Soul Guiding Stone, which allows qualified descendants to meet Xiao Emperor's remnant will and receive an inheritance suited to their talent and fortune. Possible rewards include Dou Skills, cultivation methods, and other opportunities. 170 171
Techniques and Facilities
- Flame Soul Devouring Heaven Art — A restricted Xiao Clan soul-cultivation technique that cannot be read or cultivated by non-members. 32
- Life-and-Death Gate — A cultivation site secured by Xiao Yi and Xiao Xuan for exclusive Xiao Clan use; outsiders approaching it are subject to a body-and-soul-destroying restriction. 145
- Tou She Ancient God Jade — A vital inherited artifact whose protection remains a central responsibility of Xiao Xuan and Xiao Yi. 176
External Relations
- Ancient Clan — Historically maintained close relations with the Xiao Clan when Xiao Xuan's strength placed the two clans near the top of the Eight Ancient Clans. Gu Yuan failed to aid the Xiao Clan against the Soul Clan after Xiao Xuan's fall, creating lasting resentment, but the clans later renewed their alliance through Xiao Yi and Gu Xun'er. 61 175 275
- Soul Clan — The Xiao Clan's principal enemy. The Soul Clan attacked the Heavenly Tomb ritual, slaughtered the ancient clan, and continues to pursue its inherited jade and bloodline legacy. 168 170 176
- Nine Harmonies Alliance — A Jia Ma Empire alliance created by Xiao Yi after the Misty Cloud Sect's destruction; the Xiao Clan holds the leading position. 138
- Ancient Void Dragon Tribe — A prospective strategic ally against the Soul Clan. Xiao Yi argues that the clan cannot confront the Soul Clan alone and seeks the dragon tribe's support. 383
- Yao Chen — Treated as family by Xiao Xuan, Xiao Yi, and Xiao Yan; Xiao Xuan invited him to join the Xiao Clan to support the new Xiao Realm's medicinal resources. 270
Trivia
- The Xiao Clan's ancient capital, Xiao Emperor City, once guarded the entrance to the Xiao Realm. All of its guards were killed during the Soul Clan's slaughter, leaving the city abandoned for a millennium. 163
- The clan's ancestral ruins are widely mistaken for independent Dou Saint ruins, though they are actually the burial grounds of Xiao Clan ancestors. 170
- Xiao Xuan initially believed the diminished clan should still be protected by its ancient foundation and Gu Yuan's promise; learning that its strongest member was only a Da Dou Shi left him deeply shaken. 3 4
