Sherlock paid close attention to this matter. After all, in the movies, the first thing Tony did after returning was shut down Stark Industries' weapons division, directly intensifying the conflict between Obadiah and Tony and laying the groundwork for their final showdown.
But now, after Tony finished his hospital examination, not only did he not hold a press conference, he did not even ask for a hamburger. How could Sherlock not pay attention to such a drastic change from the movies?
Faced with Sherlock's question, Tony led him on a tour of the mansion while explaining.
"It's not that I'm not shutting it down. It's just not time yet!"
Hearing Tony's explanation, Sherlock, who was heading toward the lab, slowed slightly. He looked at Tony in disbelief, raised an eyebrow, and asked.
"What do you mean, it's not time yet?"
Perhaps sensing Sherlock's disbelief, Tony stopped as well. He turned toward Sherlock and spoke seriously.
"Sherlock, this isn't that simple. After all of you left, I examined those Stark Industries weapons. Although those weapons were manufactured by Stark Industries, there was no way to trace their origins.
"In other words, while it was certain that Stark Industries made those things, there was no way to find out who made them or where they were made.
"Most importantly, the method felt extremely familiar to me. The same thing happened with your parents' accident. Something was clearly off, but there was no way to trace it!"
Upon hearing Tony's words, Sherlock's heart was instantly filled with rage again. Tony did not know who had sold weapons to the Ten Rings, but Sherlock did.
Obadiah Stane! The uncle Tony respected so deeply!
Did his parents' deaths have something to do with Obadiah Stane?
Sherlock took a deep breath and forcibly suppressed the anger in his heart. After managing to squeeze out a smile, he said to Tony.
"Fine. Whatever makes you happy."
With that, he walked past Tony and headed toward the mansion's laboratory—or rather, Tony's garage.
The reason Sherlock did not immediately point out Obadiah Stane as the culprit was, on one hand, that he had no evidence of Obadiah Stane smuggling weapons. If he said it outright, given Tony's current relationship with "his dear uncle," Tony might not believe him.
On the other hand, Sherlock needed to investigate whether Obadiah Stane truly had anything to do with his parents' deaths. If he did, Sherlock would not mind letting Obadiah Stane experience what it meant to wish for death but be unable to die.
Alchemy had plenty of uses, but when it came to torturing people, even the three Unforgivable Curses had to take a back seat to human alchemy!
Of course, those dark thoughts vanished without a trace the moment Sherlock entered Tony's garage. If shopping malls were girls' happy place, then Tony's mansion garage was absolutely a boy's paradise.
Especially for tech geeks and engineering nerds, this place was a paradise that truly existed in the real world!
Rows upon rows of luxury cars, countless top-tier tools, 3D holographic design systems—every last thing, even the workbenches, made one's heart race.
Even Sherlock, an alchemist, had green gleaming in his eyes when he saw Tony's workshop.
For no other reason than the hidden precision machine tools here, capable of micron-level work, were enough to make Sherlock drool with envy. He could hardly imagine how incredible it would be if these things were used to inscribe alchemical runes or layer formations.
If there was anything lacking here, it was probably the one classic American feature missing from the place: firearms and weapons!
Watching Sherlock's expression shift from surprise to delight, then from delight to envy, and finally from envy to a trace of regret, how could Tony, as a fellow man, not understand what Sherlock was thinking?
"JARVIS! Give this kid a show!"
As Tony's words fell, a massive array of weapons was projected before Sherlock the next second. From pistols to missiles, everything was included. Nearly every weapon currently available in this world was gathered here.
Looking at the scene before him, Sherlock's mind was full of question marks, and suspicion began to appear in his gaze toward Tony.
Good grief. Other people collect guns, but you collect projections? Is this how billionaires make their hobbies different?
Faced with Sherlock's look as though he were staring at an idiot, Tony did not get angry. Instead, he nodded toward Sherlock, signaling him to give it a try.
After understanding Tony's gesture, Sherlock was somewhat puzzled, but he still raised his hand and tried.
He swiped across the 3D projection and quickly selected a Glock 34. After clicking on the projected Glock 34, all the other weapon projections vanished the next second, leaving only the Glock 34's projection behind.
The gun projection changed as well. What appeared before Sherlock were all the components of the Glock 34, with a long menu of options attached to every part.
Seeing the projection, which resembled the gunsmith system in Escape from Tarkov, Sherlock became interested and immediately began "customizing" his Glock pistol.
Compared with Tarkov's gunsmith system, Tony's customization system was undoubtedly far more flexible. After some tinkering, Sherlock finally ended up with a TTIG version of the Glock 34 in front of him.
However, unlike the standard Glock 34's 9mm or .45 caliber, Sherlock had a sudden whim and customized this gun to use 5.7×28mm rounds.
The caliber might confuse some people, but anyone who had played Tarkov should know that the pistol corresponding to this caliber, the FN Five-seveN, was arguably one of the most useful handguns in Tarkov.
This type of ammunition was also known as a killer of soft body armor.
More importantly, under normal circumstances, Glock pistols would never come in this caliber. Yet Tony's system could customize one anyway.
After finishing the order for this "pistol that did not exist in reality," Sherlock turned to look at Tony. But Tony did not care about Sherlock's gaze. Instead, he snapped his fingers smugly and continued speaking to JARVIS.
"JARVIS, optimize the model, then manufacture it. Let's give my 'dear son' a welcome gift first!"
