"I will command all troops under heaven."

Huang Bai stood before the Dharma Altar and set this goal for himself.

In other people's eyes, Resident Evil was nothing more than an apocalyptic world overrun by zombies and spreading viruses.

But in Huang Bai's eyes, this place was practically a treasure land that the Troop-Talisman Lineage had dreamed of.

First, creatures like zombies were closer in nature to demons and evil entities. They were naturally at odds with humans, and no matter how many were killed, it would not diminish Yin Virtue.

Yin Virtue was something one could neither see nor touch, but no one truly walking the path of cultivation dared take it lightly.

If one's killing intent was too heavy or one's methods too wicked in the early stages, they would sooner or later suffer a disastrous setback at a critical moment.

Second, from the perspective of their physical bodies, zombies greatly resembled blood corpses and were naturally suitable for sacrificial refinement.

They could be used for blood sacrifices without counting as indiscriminate slaughter of innocents. Such an opportunity was almost impossible to come by.

"As the saying goes, Yin Soil takes a hundred years to form, and the Dharma Realm takes a thousand years to nurture."

"If this trip succeeds, it might save me over a hundred years of hard work."

Yin Soil was soil in which ghosts and gods could dwell.

Ghosts could remain within it to nourish their soul bodies and Dharma bodies.

A patch of Yin Soil the size of an altar could hold hundreds or even thousands of ghost soldiers.

If it developed into a true Dharma Realm, it would be even more extraordinary. With only a troop talisman, one could mobilize all the Lower-Altar Troops within the entire altar.

Normally, a Dharma Altar of this scale would be impossible without several hundred or even a thousand years of accumulated Yin energy.

But now, an entire ready-made storehouse of materials lay before Huang Bai.

Over the following days, Huang Bai divided his efforts between two fronts.

One was to have the Yaksha keep digging underground, expanding his shelter and Dharma Altar.

The other was for him to roam the city, specifically seeking out murder scenes with the heaviest Yin energy and strongest stench of death.

In the basement, candlelight flickered softly while sandalwood incense slowly rose.

Huang Bai stood before the Dharma Altar, forming hand seals and chanting an Incantation.

"Spirits, spirits, come to my altar court."

As the Incantation fell, two wisps of black smoke immediately flew from the Dharma Altar.

The black smoke circled in the air for a moment before gradually taking human form.

They were two newly acquired ghosts. Their skin carried a faint greenish glow, their bodies were translucent, and their deaths had clearly been different. At a glance, one could tell they had died only recently.

"Greetings, Master."

Huang Bai looked them over, and a hint of a smile finally appeared on his face.

"Not bad. Two more."

The Dharma Altar nurtured ghosts, and the ghosts in turn nurtured the altar.

As long as this process continued, the expansion of Yin Soil would only be a matter of time.

On the street, in a damp and narrow alley.

Several corpses lay in pools of blood, their eyes wide open in death. Fresh blood still stained the walls, and the air was thick with the mingled smell of dampness and rust.

Huang Bai held up a camera and filmed the entire scene from beginning to end.

Only after he finished filming did he stand beside the corpses, forming hand seals as he silently recited an Incantation.

The next moment, a wisp of Yin energy invisible to ordinary people slowly rose from the bodies and was drawn into Huang Bai's sleeve.

Just then, sirens suddenly sounded beyond the alley.

Soon, a police car stopped at the entrance.

The door opened, and a tall white policewoman with shoulder-length blonde hair quickly stepped out. It was Jill.

She had just received a report that two more bodies had been found here, so she immediately rushed over with her team.

"Don't move! Raccoon City Special Operations Team!"

Huang Bai slowly turned around, as though he had expected her to come.

The moment Jill saw him, her expression changed.

"Why is it you again?"

This was not the first time.

At several recent murder scenes, Huang Bai had always appeared before the police. Yet every time, he could explain himself, and he always had a camera in hand. It left Jill with an indescribable sense of unease.

She had even begun to suspect that these cases might have something to do with Huang Bai.

Huang Bai raised the camera in his hand, looking completely composed.

"Please, Officer. I'm a priest."

"Is it strange for God's representative to know things he shouldn't?"

"Besides, I have video evidence. I filmed the whole time. If you don't believe me, see for yourself."

Jill still looked displeased, but she took the footage and watched it anyway.

The recording showed that Huang Bai had indeed only arrived before her, with no sign that he had directly acted against anyone.

After watching it, she still waved him off reluctantly.

"This is under police control. Please leave."

"Of course."

Huang Bai smiled and turned to leave.

Among the people Huang Bai was most concerned about in Raccoon City, Jill was one of them. Beyond her were Ada Wong, Alice, and several other key figures.

Huang Bai had long since made his plans.

Once the real crisis erupted, all of them could become targets for his recruitment. At the very least, in this world, they were all people willing to fight.

Huang Bai's objectives in this world were clear.

First, refine troops and nurture the altar.

Second, study the T-virus.

Umbrella Corporation was still at the height of its power, with strict security everywhere. There was no need to confront it head-on now.

It would be better to wait until the disaster truly erupted, until they ruined the situation themselves, then take their researchers and data.

After leaving the scene, Huang Bai returned to his routine of moving between three places.

Inside the church, hymns slowly echoed.

Huang Bai stood at the front, leading the congregation in worship.

With those demonic green eyes, combined with his near-miraculous tricks of exorcism,

Huang Bai's reputation among the believers had already become absurdly high. If he wished, let alone becoming a priest, he could secretly gather a group of fanatics and establish himself as a cult leader.

Standing before the congregation, Huang Bai spoke calmly.

"In the future, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse will walk among mankind. Plague will spread, and death and suffering will descend with it."

Below the stage, Jill stood among the crowd, watching him closely.

Ever since Huang Bai kept appearing at crime scenes, Jill's suspicions had grown heavier. But she could find no evidence against him openly, so she could only change tactics and watch him in secret.

Naturally, she did not believe Huang Bai's doomsday prophecy.

On the other side of the church, Ada Wong sat in a corner, listening with sleepy disinterest.

She had not come to worship today. She merely found this Eastern priest, who had recently gained some fame, rather interesting and had come to take a look.

Just then, someone in the audience stood up.

"Father, if the end of the world truly comes, what should we do?"

Jill immediately became alert.

In her eyes, this was merely a common trick used by frauds. First frighten people, then make them donate money and supplies before offering their loyalty.

Yet Huang Bai's next words were completely different from what she expected.

"Avoid crowded places. Stockpile food, medicine, and drinking water as soon as possible."

"If conditions allow, prepare a basement. Or at least find a secure location that can be sealed off."

Huang Bai spoke with utter seriousness, not as though he were joking at all.

Someone else in the audience could not help asking,

"Then when will the end of the world end, Father?"

Huang Bai fell silent for a moment before answering,

"When the gods descend again, the end of the world shall end."

In truth, even he did not know how long this disaster would last.

After the service ended, Huang Bai had barely stepped out of the church when Jill quickly followed him.

"Mr. Huang, wait."

Huang Bai stopped and turned to look at her.

"You're publicly spreading doomsday theories." Jill stared at him. "Aren't you afraid of causing panic?"

Huang Bai looked at her and suddenly smiled.

"I merely saw a little of the future."

"The dead will rise again, civilization will collapse, and the world will rot away bit by bit. Since I saw it, why can't I warn others?"

After saying that, he looked at Jill once more.

"You should prepare early as well."

"Officer Jill, don't say I never warned you when the time comes."

With that, he offered no further explanation and turned to leave.

Jill stood where she was, watching his retreating back as that strange feeling in her heart grew even stronger.

Not long afterward, talk of "the end of the world is coming" gradually began to spread through Raccoon City's Chinese community and parts of its white neighborhoods.

Some scoffed at it, some half-believed it, and a small number of people truly began stockpiling supplies, reinforcing their homes, and preparing escape routes.

Riding that wave, Huang Bai appeared in several local newspapers and magazines.

Some called him a crazed, two-faced priest. Others said he truly had abilities and could see things others could not.

Some television stations even came looking for him, inviting him onto interview programs.

Before the cameras, Huang Bai appeared calm and spoke with confidence.

Inside a secret room, the television was playing that very interview.

On the sofa, a short-haired woman watched the screen with bored disinterest. It was Alice, now a senior security officer for Umbrella Corporation.

Another woman sat beside her.

Huang Bai was still talking about his "doomsday prophecy" on the television, but the conversation between the two women nearly drowned out the entire program.

"Umbrella Corporation is secretly conducting human experiments and developing bioweapons. I will provide a virus sample as evidence. You will be responsible for making it public."
