The Main Brain Upgrades Again

Wu Pifu sat in the presidential office with Xu Shilan and Yamadai. A bird stood on Wu Pifu's head, continuously pecking at his ear; a fist-sized fly hung from his waist; a Samoyed lay at his feet, biting his trouser leg; and beside him sat a pot of Golden Tree, its branches waving like claws.

They were back. They were all back. Chu Minghao and Liang Min nearly burst into tears. What had once seemed like an absurdly bizarre sight now looked better and better the more they looked at it.

Yamadai and Xu Shilan, meanwhile, had twitching lips.

They recognized Jiujiu. Wu Pifu had long kept that bird. But keeping a dog was one thing—what the hell was that fist-sized fly!? And what the hell was that Golden Tree whose branches swung around like tentacles?

Had Wu Pifu become a little too bizarre during the time they had been dead?

Wu Pifu himself did not think so. He merely felt that the little animals and the potted Golden Tree were overly excited. Still, this was not the time to discuss that, so he began telling Chu Minghao and Liang Min about his experiences during this period.

Yamadai and Xu Shilan had heard Wu Pifu recount it once before, but he had not gone into such detail then. Now, they listened patiently as well.

When Wu Pifu spoke of killing four Sources at the center of the galaxy, he made it sound utterly casual. Yamadai and Xu Shilan did not yet know what Ascendant Bodies and Sources were, so they only knew it was impressive without understanding just how impressive it was. Only Chu Minghao and Liang Min kept twitching at the corners of their mouths, their palms trembling.
