Yu Yuan is composed and methodical under pressure. During the Primitive Era, he rapidly divided unfamiliar players into teams and later organized roughly a hundred camp members into appropriate work assignments without apparent mistakes 66 74.

He favors practical, collective solutions, but recognizes limits to what a group can demand from individuals. He argues that tribe members may sacrifice some benefits for the whole, while acknowledging that asking someone to die for the collective is unreasonable 146. His pragmatism can also become politically ruthless: he considers cheating in examinations, assassinating Princess Yong'an, and manipulating court factions when these appear useful to the group's goals 138 139 155.

After the Primitive Society instance, the surviving group forms the Kindling Tribe, with Yu Yuan as its chief 82.

Magic Box Game and Kindling Expansion

During the Magic Box Game, Yu Yuan identifies Rat as the killer and exchanges intelligence with Ding Shi 89. He later secures an Auction House through a joint investment, providing the tribe with a strategic economic asset 98.

After discovering Ding Shi's land and Four Symbols Teleport Card, Yu Yuan develops plans to use those resources for a city lord's manor, tribal gatherings, and access to modern supplies 99.

Feudal Age in Miniature

Yu Yuan becomes Yong'an County's magistrate and, alongside Chu Yu, manages a county burdened by financial shortages, flood threats, bandits, political factions, and the influence of Princess Yong'an 138. In the third round, Yu Yuan becomes emperor with the objective of reducing the Qi Family's influence at court 154. He relies on Ding Shi for intelligence and investigates officials linked to the Qi faction, but Ding Shi repeatedly feeds him false information and pursues personal profit instead 155 158 159.

Yu Yuan ultimately bargains with Hong Yi to poison hostile ministers and then takes a pill intended to facilitate her succession. Hong Yi instead cuts his throat, ending his role in the Feudal Little Age instance 159.

Kindling City's Future

Following the feudal instance, Yu Yuan and Chu Yu reduce their dungeon participation to focus on Kindling City's construction, production, and logistics. Yu Yuan supports Hong Yi's selection as deputy chieftain for the dungeon-focused group 161.
