In the Book of Spells' record, Hoffa stared fixedly at the scene unfolding before him. He wanted to know why the previous generation's Dark Lord and the headmaster had met on a small island.

"I can't see what we have to talk about, Grindelwald."

Dippet said softly, "As long as you hand over the remains, the three disputed islands will all be yours."

They were making a deal. Headmaster Dippet had actually made a deal with Grindelwald. Watching the memory, Hoffa frowned slightly.

"No, no."

Grindelwald wagged a finger. "I'm not interested in agreements written on paper, and I believe you aren't either, Amando. We wizards have always believed in equal exchange. Tell me where the library is, and I'll give you the saint's remains. How about it?"

"I want to see it first," Dippet said.

His expression was calm, but his trembling fingertips showed that he was anything but composed inside. Hoffa noticed it.

Grindelwald waved his hand, and several silent subordinates in trench coats carried over a huge black wooden coffin and set it heavily on the ground.

Hoffa's attention shifted to the coffin. It was carved all over with intricate religious patterns, and at its top sat a black metallic goat skull.

Just as he was about to move closer to see what Dippet and Grindelwald were trading—
