Background / History

Millicent was among the daughters formed from fragments separated from Malenia after the Scarlet Rot's release. Scarlet Rot worshippers gathered and raised these girls as potential vessels for Valkyries of Rot. Unlike her four sisters, Millicent inherited Malenia's pride and will to resist the rot rather than embrace it. 135

Her resistance came at a severe cost. Scarlet Rot damaged her body and blurred much of her memory; she eventually severed her own right arm to escape the rot-filled bud and fled through Aeonia Swamp. 135 138

Commander O'Neil found her feverish, delirious, and unable to escape the swamp's cliffs without her arm. He sheltered her, revealed her connection to Malenia, and gave her his Unalloyed Gold Needle to suppress the Scarlet Rot, risking his own life in doing so. 200

After the needle stabilized her condition, Millicent experienced dreams containing fragments of Malenia's life. She recognized that her instinctive sword techniques originated in Malenia's Flowing Water Swordsmanship and resolved to reach the Haligtree, meet Malenia, and understand her own past. 201 202

Millicent is a petite young woman with short red hair, pale skin, and features strongly resembling Malenia's. Her resemblance repeatedly causes others to mistake her for the demigod, though Millicent firmly rejects being treated as Malenia's replacement. 200 411 414
