Background & History

Jiraiya was a direct disciple of Hiruzen Sarutobi and later trained Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage. He also trained at Mount Myoboku and developed a long-standing relationship with its sage toads. 80 114 225

Hiruzen considered Jiraiya one of the few shinobi capable of becoming Hokage, but Jiraiya repeatedly rejected the office. He preferred travelling freely, conducting intelligence work, and gathering material for his writing. 74
