Next, Shusen removed the Demon Eye from his right eye and transplanted the Byakugan from the test tube into it.

As expected, this Byakugan was merely stronger than an ordinary Byakugan in ocular power and could see through things over a greater distance. It possessed no other abilities.

In the original work, the Tenseigan had three color forms—light purple, yellow, and blue. This Byakugan was such a pure white that it was clearly not yet a Tenseigan. The fusion was still incomplete and needed further improvement.

The problem was that his stock of Byakugan was nearly exhausted. Only a dozen or so remained. If he used up the last of them and still failed to fuse a Tenseigan, he would have no choice but to halt the experiment.

"Living people won't be killed by holding in their piss. I'll just take it one step at a time."

Shusen sighed, and the joy he had felt at obtaining the Mangekyō Sharingan faded somewhat.

At noon the next day, Uzumaki's Second Elder returned to Uzushio Village with several clan members, bringing news of victory from the battlefield.

"Wonderful! The Kaguya and Uchiha allied forces have been defeated!"

"Thank you, Clan Head Ryū, for protecting our peace."

"If the Uzumaki clansmen hadn't risked their lives on the battlefield, we would have become refugees again."

All the civilians were overjoyed by the news. They were unfortunate people who had suffered deeply from war, and they cherished their current peaceful lives beyond measure. Their sense of belonging to Uzushio Village had even, at one point, surpassed their attachment to the Fire Country.

Ashina was somewhat bewildered. He had only sent the wounded back that morning and was preparing to rush to the Ninjasteel Mine to provide support, yet the war had ended so quickly.
