"Black Zetsu isn't dead?"
Izuna was puzzled. His Mangekyō Sharingan had only just awakened, and he knew little about the nature of its ocular techniques. He merely assumed Black Zetsu had dodged his cursed killing technique.
He did not dwell on it. After sensing Madara's chakra, he carried Tano and went to join his elder brother.
Madara led the clan members in retreating several miles in a row, terribly worried about Uchiha Tano's safety. He did not know whether his younger brother could catch up to Black Zetsu. After all, Black Zetsu was so cunning and good at running away.
"Tano-senior, you must be safe..."
Madara prayed silently. There was not the slightest joy in awakening his Mangekyō Sharingan; his heart was heavy with guilt.
At that moment, the earth ahead churned, and Izuna burrowed out from beneath it. Before Madara could rejoice, he heard his younger brother shout anxiously:
"Get a medical ninja over here to treat Tano-senior!"
Tano lay unconscious in his arms, her life and death uncertain.
Very soon, an Uchiha ninja skilled in medical ninjutsu stepped forward to treat Tano, while the rest of the clan gathered around to watch.
After a while, the medical ninja let out a breath of relief. "Tano-senior merely fainted. Though the wound in her lower abdomen is deep, it isn't fatal."
"Then wake her up quickly," Izuna urged.
The medical ninja nodded and increased his chakra output, treating Tano's injuries.
After several moments of treatment, Tano trembled as she opened her eyes.
"Tano-senior, you're finally awake!" Izuna and Madara were overjoyed, and the other clan members also breathed sighs of relief.
Elite jonin were the foremost fighting force of every ninja clan, the foundation of their strength, and incomparably important.
"Tano-senior, how do you feel now?"
Tano shook her head.
