History

The Three-Nine Dao Palace is one of Liyang Dao City's supreme inheritances and stands behind satellite cities such as Everharvest City. It is regarded as a “true lineage of immortality” and holds decisive influence over its subordinate regions 34.

The Dao Palace maintains five halls, including the West Hall in Tongzhou Giant City. Its senior figures include Celestial beings and True Spirits, who convene at the ancestral vein during major crises and selection events 63 197 277.

Its authority extends beyond cultivation instruction: the Palace's academies govern and protect subordinate guard cities, oversee local immortal factions, gather resources, and suppress threats such as the Ancestral God Cult 123 202.

Structure and Operations

Academies

Academies are the Dao Palace's direct forces in its subordinate guard cities. Their official disciples select promising cultivators, supervise local cultivation factions, manage their cities, and act as protectors and overseers 123.

A formal Dao Palace disciple is ordinarily required to serve at an academy after passing the probationary assessment. Upon reaching the twelfth level of Qi-Feeding, disciples may enter the West Hall to serve as inspectors or lead academies in other cities 123.

Disciples and Assessments

The Palace recruits through a probationary system centered on the Void Mirage Realm, Dao Steles, and the Ancient Demon Pass. Regional academies can open temporary spaces within the true Void Mirage Realm, with additional entrances connected to the Ancient Demon Pass for testing 123.

• Dao Steles — assess physique compatibility and transmit inheritances; compatibility below six zhang offers little prospect of successful comprehension 59.
• Mountaintop assessment — probationers climb a jade staircase through distracting illusions to reach the highest Dao Steles and seek an inheritance imprint 62 64.
• Ancient Demon Pass — a strength-based trial ground used to assess probationary disciples; it is not intended as a source of rewards 123.
• Dao Merit — disciples must purchase cultivation methods with their own merit, emphasizing personal effort rather than unconditional inheritance 64.

Passing the probationary assessment elevates a candidate to formal disciple status and grants access to the Palace's full institutional standing 188.

Authority and Enforcement

The Dao Palace can issue decrees granting its officials extraordinary authority. Lu He's Mingde Envoy decree authorized him to resolve the Ancestral God Cult crisis in Whitefang City with the power to “execute first and report afterward” 219.

The Palace's Law Enforcement Pavilion oversees internal enforcement. Its members recognized that Lu He's support from Daoist Hong He placed him in a substantially stronger position within the organization than ordinary disciples 219.

Resources and External Exchange

The Palace purchases Black Karma Stones for millions of Dao Merit each. It collects them both to deprive the Three Guiding Ways of sacrificial resources and to exchange the stones in the Brahma Sage True Realm for materials scarce in the Treasure Toad Realm 202.

Dao Palace apprentice status also carries commercial influence. The Universal Treasure Merchant Association afforded Lu He special treatment because of his affiliation with the Palace 89.

The Three-Nine Dao Palace's ancestral vein is located in Liyang Dao City. Unlike more ostentatious immortal blessed lands, it is a plain spiritual mountain without a great spiritual vein, spirit-gathering formations, heavenly lightning, or notable external splendor 261.

Its austerity is presented as a mark of the lineage's confidence: the Palace does not rely on grand scenery or external resources to establish its prestige 261.

West Hall

The West Hall occupies Mount Taihua, the highest peak in Tongzhou Giant City. Its mountain gate, palaces, rainbow bridges, spirit cranes, and pervasive Treasure Light reflect the Palace's wealth and authority 197.
