Smelling the familiar fragrance behind him, Alvin turned around smugly to look at the women who had "seen the light" and switched sides. "Looks like you know who you should be standing with now.
"On a deserted island, someone like me is obviously the more reliable choice, right?"
Jessica walked over in denim shorts and a white T-shirt, then angrily hooked an arm around Alvin's neck. "You still shouldn't have stolen the gas canisters and charcoal from the yacht. We haven't had anything hot to eat since last night."
As she spoke, Jessica sniffed and glanced at the steaming pot and the pot of millet porridge. She brazenly lifted the whole steamer to inspect it, then said, "These are all ours now..."
Pepper rolled her eyes at the childish Alvin. Yesterday, he and Stark had argued over which was more important: "brains or brawn."
Stark had represented "brains" and chosen the yacht, while Alvin had represented "brawn" and chosen the island.
Their bet was to see who could live better. Judging by the lavish breakfast here, Alvin seemed to have won.
The bet itself wasn't all that important, but the stakes were enough to leave anyone speechless.
Looking at the smug Alvin, Pepper laughed and gave him a light smack. "What's the point of making your friend get married in a T-shirt with your face on it?
"You two are such overgrown children..."
Alvin stood up and offered his seat on the large rock to the very pregnant Pepper. Then he grinned. "The face isn't the point. The important thing is to print this on it: 'Alvin is the smartest, strongest, most gentlemanly, most handsome man alive. Signed, Stark the jackass!'
"That bastard Stark is always making fun of my brains. I have to teach him a lesson this time..."
