Chapter 1230: Cosmic Intelligence
Alvin was impressed by Professor Wilson's "conclusion"...
He usually judged things by their results, but reasoning backward from those results was difficult for him.
Because Alvin had always felt that the "result" was right there in front of him, and what the past had been like didn't really matter!
But Professor Wilson clearly didn't think so...
It wasn't easy to explain a historical theory in plain language.
Professor Wilson had used theories about "civilization," "religion," "the Mind," "the multiverse," and other aspects of humanity to explain the actions of those "Immortals."
And he'd made a very convincing case. At least Stark and Norman Osborn hadn't offered any objections.
Whether what Professor Wilson had said was true didn't really matter to Alvin.
What he cared about was his own place in all this, and whether the troubles that always appeared at crucial moments had anything to do with those "Immortals."
Alvin was a thoroughgoing atheist...
It wasn't that he didn't believe in gods. He simply didn't believe in so-called determinism. But what had happened today had left him with a strange feeling of fate.
That ran counter to "freedom," and was completely at odds with the beliefs of those "Immortals."
If none of this had anything to do with the "Immortals," then had the "Light of Freedom" developed a flaw?
For a brief moment, Alvin had been completely bewildered by his own situation!
Alvin knew that he came from another world. He couldn't be sure about anyone else, but Stark's "Fate" had already been broken.
That was proof enough that this so-called "freedom" existed!
Because the different choices people made could completely change the future.
Just think of the "Ragnarok" that had given Odin so much trouble. It seemed that no matter what the Norse gods did,
