Ever since Alvin unleashed Blizzard in the North Pole, temperatures in the Arctic Circle had remained at historic lows.

Blizzard's lethal range was only a radius of three and a half kilometers, but its indirect effects reached far wider, especially here in the Arctic.

Satellite surveillance in this area had always been very limited. The conditions were simply too harsh, and when the wind whipped up the snow, it provided excellent cover for anyone with something to hide.

The Skrulls' plan was well thought out. They used Pyramids in other parts of the world to draw everyone's attention while they came to the North Pole, hoping to activate the Trial Pyramid here and release the "Predators" inside. Then they would use these warriors, who rivaled the gods, to take on the world.

They believed that once they had power, they would have leverage at the negotiating table.

That was perfectly logical. When the damage you could inflict was enough to make the other side hurt, it was time for both sides to sit down and negotiate.

Unfortunately, the Skrulls might have been competent politicians or schemers, but they truly didn't understand the logic of Hell's Kitchen.
