Alvin stood at the players' tunnel exit, gazing at the stands with satisfaction.
He had no idea where so many people had come from to fill Metropolitan Stadium's eighty thousand seats.
Those vicious gangsters had been forced into cheap suits to make them look a little more respectable.
Alvin had made several rounds of the stadium himself, confiscating every "dangerous item" the bastards were carrying. Only then had he felt safe enough to stand beside the players' tunnel.
Hearing the gangsters in the stands beside him hollering at the top of their lungs, Alvin glanced helplessly at the two enormous blue trash cans behind him. They were full of coins, lighters, knives, fountain pens, and anything else that might get thrown onto the field.
He flipped off a huge tattooed man in the stands behind him and yelled, "Show some damn manners! If you scare our opponents off, I'll come up there and beat the hell out of you!"
Then Alvin pointed at the men's clothes, which looked like rags they'd dug out of a trash can, and shouted, "If you assholes ruin those suits, Boss Gable will make you pay for them!"
Clark Gable, who was using a nail clipper to cut a few big holes in his own tattered clothes so he could move freely, heard Alvin shouting. He hunched his shoulders and muttered to the people around him, "It's fine. I'll cover the cost of these.
This is Hell's Kitchen's big day. Remember to get the chants going!"
One of Clark Gable's men craned his neck to look at Alvin, then said to his boss, "What's Principal Alvin's problem? We're on the same side!"
Clark Gable smacked the man on the head and cursed, "Those kids on the other side are scared shitless. If they're too scared
