Nick Fury drove with one hand and held the phone with the other. "Reed, I need you to speed things up.

"The countermeasure program has to be delivered to Natasha immediately. She'll take Johnny along as our last line of defense."

Reed sounded uneasy on the other end. "I need more time. The basic algorithm for Project Insight isn't enough for me to crack it completely.

"If I shut it down by force, the program will be destroyed. Is that what you want?"

Nick Fury fell silent for a moment. He glanced back at the bespectacled, tightly bound bald man from Western Asia on the floor of the back seat and said, "Yes. If necessary, I'll destroy it..."

With that, Nick Fury hung up, pulled out a pistol, and fired three shots at the man. Then he checked the rearview mirror. The sedans were already catching up...

Just as Nick Fury called for backup again, a shadow sprang at him from the lane beside his car...

There was a deafening BANG!

Nick Fury felt his speeding car jolt violently. Then

his SUV began to spin out of control.

But that wasn't the end of it. Over the shrill sound of beeping, Nick Fury looked back and saw a round magnetic bomb stuck to his car window.

As the green light on the bomb flashed faster and faster, Nick Fury cursed, slammed on the brakes, and lunged toward the passenger seat.

Steve watched the out-of-control SUV crash into the guardrail. He was just about to get out and see if anyone needed help when...

BANG! A violent explosion ripped through the SUV's window.

The masked man with the iron arm didn't stop attacking after the explosion. He drew two pistols and charged toward the SUV, firing rapidly as he went.
