Hearing Han Yang's question, Zhang Dazhu froze for a moment before immediately replying, "I, Zhang Dazhu, don't understand anything else. I only know how to repay kindness. President Han, just give the order. I'm not afraid of death."
Han Yang nodded slightly. "Starting today, the Pistol Squad will no longer patrol the streets. Stay at the martial arts hall and wait for my orders."
"Yes!"
After dismissing Zhang Dazhu, Han Yang's thoughts shifted. Immediately, in six unoccupied little courtyards located anywhere from several hundred meters to several kilometers away from Fuxing Mall, preassembled robot pilots operated drone controllers. At a single command, six small drones resting on wireless charging pads roared into the air and swiftly shot into the sky.
The six drones flew in different directions. One of them arrived above the Public Security Bureau in the Vegetable Market District.
Through the drone's camera, the several buildings within the Public Security Bureau looked somewhat run-down and utterly ordinary. Yet Han Yang knew full well that this was one of the highest authorities in the entire Vegetable Market District.
Any order issued from here could affect the lives and deaths of countless people.
No matter how brazen a gang member might be, they would never dare cause trouble beside the Public Security Bureau.
Zhou Da'an, who held a lofty position in the Revival Group, could make gang bosses obedient and could control the entire Revival Group with a single word, was merely a middle-ranking official within the Public Security Bureau. There were no telling how many people at his level or above it.
From several hundred meters in the air, the drone openly monitored the Public Security Bureau compound that struck fear into countless hearts, carefully searching every target on the ground.
Within only a few seconds, Han Yang found what he was looking for.
It was a sedan, the personal car of Cheng Hong, the Public Security Bureau supervisor.
Han Yang knew that Cheng Hong owned several Flying Cars. Yet the vehicle he most liked to ride in was this sedan that could only travel on the ground. As for why, Han Yang had heard that Cheng Hong liked the feeling of patrolling his own territory.
If the car was here, Cheng Hong was most likely at the Public Security Bureau as well.
Having found Cheng Hong's whereabouts, the other drones returned one after another and landed on their respective wireless charging pads to recharge. This drone, meanwhile, continued its surveillance until its battery was nearly depleted, at which point another drone came to replace it before it flew back.
Though the drones could not see inside the buildings or spot Cheng Hong himself, it did not matter. It was enough to confirm that he was here.
At that moment, inside a room in the Public Security Bureau building, Zhou Da'an stood respectfully before the window, his waist slightly bent as though the person on the other end of the receiver could sense his deference. "Supervisor Cheng, I've demanded that the Revival Group double the money. I've also made arrangements with the Iron Wolf Gang. We should have an answer soon as to whether the Revival Group truly has any backing."
A voice full of authority came from the other end. "I understand."
The call ended. Inside the supervisor's office in the Public Security Bureau building, a cold smile appeared on Cheng Hong's lips.
They could deploy Armed Drones? They were suspected of having connections to the Earth Guard? Then why had he asked around so extensively, only to find that no one knew anything about the Revival Group or that man named Han Yang?
This time, if Han Yang truly had backing, it should reveal itself. If he had no backing... then the Vegetable Market District could not allow someone so impressive to exist.
A single Fuxing Mall was worth several million. It would become his.
He worked himself to the bone for an entire year and only earned around ten million, with most of it needing to be offered up to others. One Fuxing Mall was worth nearly half a year of his income. Taking a little risk was completely worthwhile.
Han Yang continued monitoring the Public Security Bureau compound. Even when he saw Cheng Hong get into his car and leave the bureau with two subordinates, he did not stop.
"Since the Revival Group lacks someone to back it, then Cheng Hong, it'll be you. You can be my patron. As the supervisor and top official of the Vegetable Market District Public Security Bureau, you can barely shelter me at this stage."
Time passed quietly, and before long, night fell. The night-vision drone clearly saw Cheng Hong's car stop outside the most luxurious restaurant in the Vegetable Market District. The doors opened, and the two capable-looking subordinates got out from either side. One opened the rear door, while the other vigilantly surveyed the surroundings.
The two men escorted Cheng Hong into the restaurant.
Two hours later, the three of them emerged from the restaurant, where several people who looked like business owners saw them off at the entrance.
The three got into the car, but it did not head toward Cheng Hong's residence. Instead, it drove in another direction until it reached an upscale residential complex and entered its underground garage.
The next morning, Cheng Hong's car appeared again and arrived at the Public Security Bureau. After getting out, Cheng Hong was still flanked by those same two men.
"These are probably Cheng Hong's bodyguards. Hmm, he's quite cautious. He takes them wherever he goes."
Han Yang did not rush. He continued monitoring him. Under Han Yang's remote control, the six drones took off in rotation and watched Cheng Hong without interruption for twenty-four hours a day. After watching him for five consecutive days, Han Yang finally figured out Cheng Hong's daily travel routes.
That night, Zhang Dazhu, who had waited for so long, finally received Han Yang's order.
"Take the Pistol Squad and lie in wait here. Wait for my command."
Han Yang guessed that Cheng Hong would probably go to that upscale residential complex again tonight—he suspected it was where Cheng Hong's mistress lived.
Han Yang intended to make his move against Cheng Hong on the road.
That evening, after finishing his dinner engagement, Cheng Hong indeed headed toward that residential complex with his two bodyguards. The drone followed from afar, keeping him under constant surveillance.
Ahead, a group of gang members were engaged in a chaotic brawl. Han Yang frowned slightly.
If Cheng Hong's car changed routes because of this, his arrangements would come to nothing.
Yet Cheng Hong's car not only did not stop, it accelerated toward the gang members who were desperately hacking at one another in the street with steel pipes and machetes. Along the way, the car suddenly activated its police lights and siren. The gang members instantly descended into chaos and scattered in all directions.
Cheng Hong's car windows were even open. Though he was hundreds of meters away, Han Yang could almost hear the wild laughter inside the vehicle.
"Is Cheng Hong really that confident? Isn't he afraid the gang members might lose their heads and chop him up too? Or has he become so used to being the local emperor that he simply isn't afraid of anyone coming after him?"
If Li Hu, Zhao Fu, or Black Three, whom Han Yang had already killed, had witnessed this scene, they probably would not have found it as strange as Han Yang did.
Who among the underworld gangs in the Vegetable Market District did not know of Supervisor Cheng's hobby? He liked herding gang members around like sheep.
Once, a gang member had been a little too slow to get out of the way, and the machete in his hand accidentally scratched Cheng Hong's car. The next day, that gang member's entire family vanished without a trace. It was said that the gang boss had paid several hundred thousand as a gift before Cheng Hong agreed to spare them.
From then on, every gang member in the Vegetable Market District knew about Supervisor Cheng's hobby. Whenever they encountered him at night, they fled as quickly as they could.
No matter what, Cheng Hong's car had not changed its route. That was what Han Yang cared about most.
Ahead, at the narrowest stretch of road, Zhang Dazhu had already pushed down a crumbling wall. Scattered bricks and rubble blocked the road, while the ten members of the Pistol Squad were already hiding nearby.
