Background / History

Houtu is one of the Twelve Ancestral Witches born from Pangu's essence blood and a master of the Witch Clan. Unlike her siblings, whose natures are steeped in battle and slaughter, her aura is gentle and compassionate. She was nurtured at the outermost edge beneath Mount Buzhou, where she absorbed less baleful qi than the other Ancestral Witches. This left her physical body comparatively weaker, but her soul more complete. 1 11

While climbing Mount Buzhou, Houtu sensed an aura sharing her origin and discovered the still-gestating Pan Xuan within gathered mysterious yellow energy. She brought him back to Pangu Hall. After detecting the faint fluctuation that revealed he was alive, she opposed proposals to refine him with Ancestral Witch blood essence and insisted that a relic related to Pangu be treated cautiously. 1 2

Once Pan Xuan's origin in Pangu's righteous qi was confirmed, Houtu immediately accepted him as her younger brother.
