The Three Pure Ones feared that the newcomers would disturb their master's contemplation of the Great Dao. Without prior discussion, they immediately left the protective formation.
The next moment, Primordial Heavenly Venerable spoke with a gloomy expression. "Who goes there? How dare you make such a clamor here?"
Seeing the Three Pure Ones appear, someone stepped forward and said, "May I ask if you are the Three Pure Ones, senior brothers?"
Hearing the newcomer address them as senior brothers, Primordial Heavenly Venerable could not help but be taken aback. He immediately turned to look at Laozi.
Although Laozi did not recognize the newcomers either, he sensed a strangely familiar aura from them. It was a bond rooted deep within his primordial spirit, one Laozi could never mistake.
After a brief moment of thought, Laozi had already guessed who they were. He said, "If I am not mistaken, you should be the Twelve Ancestral Sorcerers formed from Father God's essence blood, correct?"
The newcomer smiled and nodded. She said to Laozi, "Senior Brother Laozi is correct. I am Houtu, Master's disciple, and they are all my elder brothers."
Because of Chen Xuan, the Three Pure Ones had always regarded themselves as Pangu's descendants. Unlike in the original trajectory of the Primordial World, they no longer believed themselves to be part of Pangu rather than his descendants.
Thus, upon learning that the newcomers were the Twelve Ancestral Sorcerers, warm expressions appeared on their faces. They were especially delighted to learn that Houtu was also their master's disciple.
Laozi immediately said, "Master is in seclusion. Junior Sister may lead your brothers into the Daoist grounds with me and await Master's emergence from seclusion."
As he spoke, Laozi made an inviting gesture and opened the protective formation, allowing the Twelve Ancestral Sorcerers into the Three Pure Ones' Daoist Grounds on Kunlun Mountain.
Chen Xuan knew nothing of this and continued comprehending that extraordinary law.
By now, Chen Xuan had gained some understanding of this law. He knew that it was a law that stood above the ten supreme laws, known as nature.
"Man follows the earth, earth follows heaven, heaven follows the Dao, and the Dao follows nature. Nature is the master of all laws and the origin of a thousand Daos. This is the path of law I should cultivate as my primary path."
At this moment, Chen Xuan finally understood where his Dao lay, and an irrepressible smile appeared on his face.
All this time, Chen Xuan had been choosing among the three thousand Great Dao laws which one he ought to cultivate as his primary path. He had even considered following Pangu's example and focusing on the Law of Strength.
Yet Chen Xuan felt that the Great Dao Law of Strength did not suit him. He had also considered cultivating the Great Dao Law of Creation inherent to his true body. He had even ultimately decided to use the Great Dao Law of Creation as his foundation to evolve boundless power of laws.
Although cultivating the Law of Creation inherent to his true body would have been simplest for Chen Xuan, its foundation was inferior to the Law of Nature by an unknown margin.
Even if Chen Xuan used the Great Dao Law of Creation to achieve the Mixed Yuan Great Luo Golden Immortal realm, or even break through to the Dao Realm and the Great Dao Realm in the future, his strength would at most be comparable to Hongjun's.
Now that he had finally comprehended the stronger Law of Nature, Chen Xuan naturally would not choose anything else. At the same time, he knew that comprehending the Law of Nature to its utmost would require several times the effort demanded by the Great Dao Law of Creation.
But that was simply Chen Xuan's nature. Anything without a challenge was meaningless to him. Besides, he would have to face Hongjun in the future. How could he manage without overwhelming strength?
As Chen Xuan deepened his understanding of the Law of Nature, his cultivation rose once more. He had now reached the peak of the Mixed Yuan Golden Immortal realm.
All he needed was a suitable opportunity to attain the Dao and break through to the Mixed Yuan Great Luo Golden Immortal realm in one stroke. Yet as for how he could find that opportunity, Chen Xuan had no clue.
He could even be certain that further deepening his understanding of the Law of Nature would not grant him that opportunity. Therefore, he simply stopped comprehending the Law of Nature for the time being.
When Chen Xuan opened his eyes, he sensed that the Three Pure Ones' Daoist Grounds on Kunlun Mountain had become unusually lively. This made him think to himself, Could it be that they have already started taking disciples while I was comprehending the Dao?
Chen Xuan was somewhat concerned about this. After all, the Three Pure Ones' eventual split was closely connected to taking disciples.
Chen Xuan had even once believed that among the disciples and granddisciples who entered the Three Pure Ones' sect, no one knew how many had been planted there by others specifically to cause the Three Pure Ones to split.
Thus, Chen Xuan did not dare hesitate in the slightest. He immediately shouted, "You lot, get over here!"
Upon hearing Chen Xuan's voice, a smile instantly appeared on Laozi's face. He said, "Master has now emerged from seclusion. Everyone, follow me to pay respects to Master."
After speaking, Laozi was the first to head toward Qilin Cliff. The others followed closely behind him, and before long, they arrived at Qilin Cliff.
No one dared enter Chen Xuan's thatched hut directly. Instead, they respectfully knelt outside and performed a grand bow in worship of Chen Xuan.
Only then did Chen Xuan finally see clearly that Laozi and the others had not taken disciples. Rather, the Twelve Ancestral Sorcerers had come to Kunlun Mountain.
Chen Xuan immediately stepped out of his thatched hut. With a wave of his hand, he helped them to their feet before speaking.
"Why have you come to Kunlun Mountain instead of properly comprehending the laws in the Ancestral Sorcerer Hall?"
Houtu hurriedly replied, "Master, the cultivation of my brothers and I has reached the early stage of the Mixed Yuan Golden Immortal realm. But ever since reaching that stage, our cultivation has become difficult to advance any further."
"That is why we came to Kunlun Mountain to see Master, hoping to receive your guidance so that our cultivation may reach the peak of the Mixed Yuan Golden Immortal realm as soon as possible."
Upon hearing this, Chen Xuan looked over the Twelve Ancestral Sorcerers, then at the Three Pure Ones. He discovered that even the Three Pure Ones had reached the early stage of the Mixed Yuan Golden Immortal realm.
I never expected their cultivation to advance so quickly. As expected of Big Brother's descendants, favored by heaven and earth. Fortunately, my cultivation has improved. Otherwise, this master of theirs would have been surpassed by his disciples.
As he thought this, Chen Xuan nodded to everyone and said, "I am very satisfied with the speed at which your cultivation has progressed."
"Next, I will expound the Dao for you for ten thousand years. I hope you can find your own opportunities within it and raise your cultivation."
As he spoke, Chen Xuan sat down cross-legged. The three flowers above his head bloomed in turn, each having already reached the twelfth grade.
"There was something formless yet complete, born before heaven and earth. Silent and empty, it stands alone and does not change; it moves in cycles and never tires. It may be regarded as the mother of heaven and earth. I do not know its name; I call it the Dao. Forced to name it, I call it great."
"Great means passing on; passing on means reaching far; reaching far means returning. Thus, the Dao is great, heaven is great, earth is great, and man is also great. Within the realm are four great things, and man occupies one of them. Man follows the earth, earth follows heaven, heaven follows the Dao, and the Dao follows nature..."
As Chen Xuan expounded the Tao Te Ching, the Three Pure Ones instantly entered a state of enlightenment. The three flowers above their heads likewise bloomed, though they had only reached the ninth grade.
