After hearing this, Tathagata Buddha said, "Even so, variables have arisen. The ordeal in Jisai Kingdom involves the Human Race, the Dragon Clan of the Four Seas, and Zhenwu of the Heavenly Court. You must keep a close watch on it. Do not let it slip beyond control again as it did in the Western Liang Women's Kingdom."
"We shall obey the Buddha's decree." The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas responded in unison, but an indescribable heaviness now filled the hall.
As for Tang Sanzang, he soon returned to Golden Light Temple in Jisai Kingdom. Seeing him return, Sun Wukong grinned. "Master, you were quick. Did you see His Majesty?"
Tang Sanzang nodded and briefly recounted his meeting with Li Shimin and Changsun Wugou, letting everyone know what they were to do the next day.
Early the next morning, Tang Sanzang went to the royal palace and asked the King of Jisai Kingdom to exchange his travel documents.
Because the Buddhist treasure had been stolen, the King of Jisai Kingdom suspected the Buddhist monks of stealing what they had been entrusted to guard. He had even come to regard all disciples of the Buddhist Sect as petty thieves.
Thus, he held Tang Sanzang in utter contempt and did not care whether he was the holy monk of Great Tang. He did not even grant him an audience, simply ordering someone to send him away.
He merely said that state affairs were currently pressing and he had no time to attend to other matters. Once state affairs had been handled, he would naturally exchange the travel documents for him.
