Yi You is a prodigy of the Yi Clan, whose members cultivate the clan’s Sun-Shooting Intent and are expected to study alchemy. Before entering the Withered Bone Demon Forest, he ignored his companions’ warnings and resolved to pursue the Soul-Spirit Burial Grounds trial for its rare soul-based opportunities. 25 26 29

Inside the burial grounds, Yi You encountered Su Bo while both mistook the other for a Withered-Bone Demon Corpse. Su Bo’s counterattack severely injured him, leaving Yi You shocked by an Ancient Human who possessed nine strands of vitality per refinement—far beyond Yi You’s own six-strand foundation. 28

Yi You became intensely interested in Su Bo’s Soul Vine reward. Although he initially tried to secure a share through an overly prepared “trade,” he refused to simply steal it, considering that contrary to his principles. Su Bo saw through his eagerness and forced him into further rounds against demon corpses, exhausting him until he admitted that he had intended to take advantage of the situation. 29 30

Despite his opportunism, Yi You has a clear sense of boundaries. He considered using hidden methods to obtain the Soul Vine, but rejected outright robbery because it violated his principles.
