Some of the pill recipes Mi He had given Song Wen were exclusive to the Beast Taming Sect. Certain medicinal herbs they required could be found only within the sect and were difficult to obtain elsewhere.

"A few of the Lei Clan's Golden Core cultivators fled to demonic territory with some talented clan members. The rest have all been put to death," Mi He said lightly.
Yet that breezy sentence meant millions of Lei Clan members, including the elderly, women, and children, had gone to their graves.
After another farewell, Song Wen drifted away.
Song Wen did not immediately seek out Zhou Siyi at East Birch Market. Instead, he found a secluded place and continued tending his injuries.
A month later, with his injuries mostly healed, Song Wen disguised himself as a Foundation Establishment Realm Rogue Cultivator and returned to East Birch Market.
As he walked down the shop-lined streets, Song Wen saw that the Lei Clan's former shops had changed hands. Every one of them now belonged to the Beast
