Hidden Leaf Village.
Outside the village, within the Uchiha clan compound—the Hidden Leaf's foremost clan.
"A Luo, don't be afraid. Daddy and Mommy will always be with you..."
A gentle voice continued offering comfort by his ear, while a warm hand stroked through his slightly tousled short hair.
"Itachi, you must take good care of Sasuke..."
The man's voice sounded from the other side.
Yet those words left A Luo, whose consciousness had only just fused with this body, utterly stifled.
System, am I supposed to die alongside this couple?
This was not A Luo's first transmigration. By now, he was quite accustomed to asking the system what exactly was going on.
Last time, he had been in a cultivation world where an overpowered protagonist swept through everything. Starting as a minor orphan whose sect had been destroyed by the protagonist, he had gradually risen to become the final villain before perishing together with the protagonist.
He could originally have survived, but since he had always used other people's identities, he suddenly wanted a body of his own. That was why he gave up on continuing to live in that world, all for the sake of earning a few more achievement rewards.
There was another reason, too. He still had plenty of enemies in that world, and there was no benefit to staying. Even if he did not leave, life would not have been particularly comfortable.
Afterward, he bought materials from the system to create a body, then asked it to choose a world that was slightly less difficult.
And it had sent him to this Naruto world, where people danced on the edge of life and death every day?
It was not as though this world was impossible to survive in, but what the hell was the system doing?
Uchiha!
His current identity was an Uchiha!
And it was neither too early nor too late—it had made him fuse with this body on Clan Massacre Night!
What was this situation supposed to be? Was he going to be forced to die under the watch of two Mangekyō Sharingan?
This was too much. System, you had really gone too far!
[The host's new body and identity have been integrated into the world. The current situation is critical. The New World Gift Pack has automatically been converted into a self-rescue item.] [Host's current identity: Luo Uchiha, the third son of Fugaku Uchiha and Mikoto Uchiha. He was born half a day after Sasuke Uchiha. Due to being excessively frail at birth, he was saved but has been kept in a small courtyard ever since.] [Current story time: Clan Massacre Night. Fugaku Uchiha is prepared to die, while Mikoto Uchiha has chosen to follow him. The couple intends to die alongside their sickly youngest son beneath Itachi Uchiha's blade.] [Host's current strength: a frail, sickly child without the strength to truss a chicken. No ability to resist.] [Host has obtained a one-time, damage-free feigned-death state. The host may choose when to activate and deactivate it. Limited to the Clan Massacre Night event.]
The system had appeared and provided a string of prompts, along with... a self-rescue item.
After confirming how this damage-free feigned-death state worked, Luo Uchiha decided to put on an act before his parents died.
His system almost never issued missions.
So, he had to figure out ways to earn points himself before he could buy things from the points store.
The only time the system would proactively pop up was when he might be about to die. Then it would come out and ask whether he wished to evade death and survive, or stubbornly choose to die...
He had complained more than once before that it was a slacker system.
The system had happily accepted that description.
It had even said it had no particular needs. A slacker system only needed to watch its host go from crawling to walking, then soar step by step.
The host wanted to earn points?
The host could figure that out himself.
Whenever he achieved certain accomplishments, rewards would be issued directly. If he could not figure them out, the system would not provide any hints whatsoever...
Yet it was precisely this lazy, freeform mode that A Luo loved even as he complained about it.
The system had judged this world to be safe. Although he had no idea how it made that determination, given the current situation, he would test it first. Hopefully, he could earn an achievement before feigning his death.
After all, this was Clan Massacre Night!
If he did nothing, it would be a waste of this opportunity.
As for his parents in this world...
There was truly no pressure in acting for them.
Although he was their child, from the very beginning, this couple had believed that he should not exist because of his frailty.
When he was born, they had nearly disposed of him as though he were dead. It was only because Itachi Uchiha worriedly checked him and confirmed that he was still alive that he had been allowed to remain.
Later, finding servants to care for him, bringing doctors to examine him, teaching him to speak...
All kinds of matters had been handled by the still-young Itachi Uchiha, who ran around tirelessly.
"You tell him to take care of Sasuke, yet you're taking me with you to die. You truly are such a wonderful father!"
A Luo—now Luo Uchiha—suddenly spoke, his voice full of grievance and resentment.
That one sentence shattered the sorrowful atmosphere, making Itachi Uchiha's hand tremble around his blade.
A Luo leaned to one side. His thin little body swayed as he shook off Mikoto Uchiha's hand, then turned and fixed Fugaku Uchiha with his large, catlike eyes.
Then, beneath the stunned gazes of the couple and Itachi Uchiha's sorrowful eyes, he braced himself against the floor with both hands and shakily rose to his feet.
"A Luo, what are you saying?!"
Fugaku Uchiha looked at his youngest son, an indescribable terror rising from the depths of his heart.
This child had always been obedient. He had never refused anything he was told to do.
Whenever Itachi occasionally urged them to go see him, the child would look at them with eyes full of expectation. He had never refused any request they made.
Even when they occasionally told him not to play with Sasuke, or not to let Itachi waste time on him, the child had always complied.
So why was he throwing a tantrum now?
"I'm saying that, as the clan head of the Uchiha clan, you have used the best the entire clan had to offer from the past until now. Yet when the clan faces a crisis, you have strength but refuse to use it. You are a traitor to the entire clan!"
"As a husband, you do not protect your wife. You even make her wait here to be killed by her own son. What kind of man are you?!"
"As a father, you do not stop your eldest son. You leave your second son behind in an unknown future, and you even intend to bring your youngest son—who has never even seen the world outside—to his death. What kind of father are you?!"
A Luo's eyes widened to their limit. A stinging ache welled up in them, and tears rapidly gathered with every furious accusation.
Crying was indeed a little embarrassing.
But given his current identity and age, breaking down in tears from despair was the most natural reaction he could have.
By now, he no longer cared whether acting was awkward. After all, for the sake of survival, he could calmly accept even dressing as a girl...
Right now, he did not know whether berating Fugaku Uchiha would earn him an achievement. But even if it earned him nothing, he first had to establish his persona.
It did not matter if his body was weak, but he absolutely could not appear weak-willed!
He would rather die fighting than offer up his head for nothing!
