Background

Sasuke was born shortly before A Luo, who was publicly known as his frail younger twin and the Uchiha clan head's third son. A Luo was kept isolated in a small courtyard from childhood, while Sasuke and Itachi were among the few family members who secretly visited him. 1 10

During the Uchiha clan massacre, Sasuke was captured by Itachi and subjected to Tsukuyomi. When he later learned that A Luo had survived, his grief and hatred gave way to a single immediate priority: protecting the only family member still beside him. He promised to care for A Luo, began carrying him to and from the academy, learned to cook, and offered to teach him to read. 3 5 9 10
