Background

The Su Family is a major wealthy family with assets stated to be worth at least several billion yuan. Its standing and influence allow it to accept Yu Xunhuan as Su Yitong's live-in son-in-law, though he cannot control the family even in the event of the senior generation's deaths. Their marriages require extensive prenuptial agreements. 7 14

The family places practical value on people who can contribute. Workers are compensated, especially when considered close to the family; however, daughters-in-law and live-in sons-in-law are expected to work for the family without demanding equivalent compensation. 41 50

After an intruder steals gold from its treasury and injures Su Yitong, the family strengthens its estate defenses. Its upgraded systems combine pressure sensing with revealing-potion detection, making further infiltration significantly more dangerous. 19 38

Yu Xunhuan and Su Yitong’s Marriage

The Su Family enters the story when Yu Xunhuan reveals that he has been dating Su Yitong, the family’s youngest daughter. The Yu Family worries whether it can meet the Su Family’s expectations, while Yi Qiuguo pressures Yu Xunge to purchase a home so Yu Xunhuan can maintain appearances for the wedding. 7

At the families’ marriage discussion, Yu Xunge observes that the Su Family displays basic manners but little respect toward Yu Xunhuan. She concludes that Su Yitong chiefly values his appearance and the genes associated with it rather than treating the marriage as an equal partnership. 14

Treasury Heist and Retaliatory Defenses

Yu Xunge infiltrates the Su Family Manor during the second closed beta, reaches the underground vault through the main-building study, and steals 2,193 gold bricks. She also knocks out Su Baige, Su Jinxuan, and Su Yitong, taking their inventory bags; Su Yitong loses an ear during the incident. 19

The family initially faces uncertainty over the culprit. In the aftermath, it upgrades its defenses and later joins House Liang in investigating a shared enemy responsible for attacks against both families. 23 38 42

Cooperation with Yu Xunge

Su Yitong hires Yu Xunge to raise selected individuals’ Luck to the maximum value of 10, offering one million per use. Yu Xunge accepts only jobs that increase Luck, refusing requests to lower it. 41

This arrangement gives Yu Xunge protection through her association with the Su Family while also making her ability valuable to other powerful groups. Su Yitong later considers bringing Yu Xunge formally into the family through marriage to a Su Family branch member. 42 49 50

• The Su Family’s wealth is substantial enough that Yu Xunge compares her own fifty-million-yuan villa unfavorably to House Liang’s estate, while separately estimating the Su Family’s assets at no less than several billion yuan. 7 11
