Polaris refused to take Sean back, claiming she had to take care of Teacher Ororo.
Sean didn't believe that bullshit excuse for a second.
Storm was back to normal now. What care did she need?
That little brat was burning the bridge after crossing it!
If he actually had a way to spend money, would he have needed her to drive him?
Little girl, you clearly had no idea how much power a creditor held!
Sean casually found one of the side effects he'd collected from previous treatments in his ledger...
Pelvic floor muscle relaxation...
Little brat, it was time to show her what her creditor was capable of!
Polaris was still smug over having brushed off Sean White when she suddenly felt unwell. Her face flushed, and she bolted for the restroom.
Colossus had no idea what was going on, but he was naturally dense and didn't think in that direction.
Sean sneered. Burning the bridge after crossing it, huh? Today, he'd make sure she couldn't leave the restroom.
So, what happened when your pelvic floor muscles relaxed?
Basically, you couldn't hold in your urine... You leaked. And if you got excited... you leaked badly~
Let's see whether you took care of Ororo this time, or Ororo took care of you!
By then, Storm had gotten dressed and walked out.
Sean turned around, took one look, and immediately fled with his head in his hands.
This woman was insane!
Electricity crackled all over her body, and her eyes were terrifyingly white. If they got any brighter, she'd look just like Thor!
"Ororo! If you dare zap me, watch out for hemorrhoids!"
Those words were too powerful. The lightning around Storm vanished instantly, and her white eyes returned to normal.
Though her dark face had turned dark red~
Sean had no intention of going back after running off. He planned to run all the way back to Manhattan. It was less than forty kilometers, so he could make it in two hours at most.
What did he have to fear with unlimited stamina?
But in his hurry, he took a wrong turn. He wandered around in circles and still couldn't find the elevator he'd taken down. Instead, he found an enormous, empty space.
It looked like an aircraft hangar.
"Enmmm..."
Why was the underground part of this school built like a maze? He should just go back the way he came.
In the end, it took him a full half hour to find where he'd been before. The underground corridors all looked practically identical. If the doors hadn't been locked, he really wouldn't have found his way back anytime soon.
The only reason he recognized this place was that the infirmary door was open.
The oversized bed Storm had been lying on earlier was right there.
Once he got here, things became much easier. He still vaguely remembered the way he'd come.
As long as he felt his way along, he shouldn't get lost again.
By the time Sean was completely dizzy from circling around, he finally stumbled across the elevator back up.
This trip to Xavier School had thoroughly exposed his terrible sense of direction. Without signs, he probably wouldn't even be able to find his way home.
He was even angrier at Polaris Lorna now. Just wait. Next time, he'd collect something like an endocrine disorder from her. He had to make up for this.
There was no hope of her paying off that debt anyway.
A little extra interest wouldn't hurt.
He emerged onto the ground floor, still inside the main building. It was much easier to get his bearings here, and the place didn't seem all that large. It was far better than that underground maze.
He really wanted to call Polaris or someone else from Xavier Institute and ask them to guide him out, but he didn't have the contact information for a single person from Xavier Institute.
Did he have to call Vanessa now?
After fiddling with the flip phone in his hand for a moment, Sean gave up.
He shouldn't disturb Vanessa. He'd tormented his girlfriend too badly yesterday, and she hadn't even gone to the bookstore today.
Fortunately, the castle wasn't very big. After taking only a few turns, he found the dining hall.
Huh?
Someone was here!
"Who are you?"
A young man was sitting there.
"I'm looking for someone... Uh, can you tell me how to get out? I'm a little lost."
"Oh, go straight and turn left. The main gate is there. Who are you looking for?"
the young man asked.
"Lorna."
"Lorna Dane? She went out with Teacher Monroe."
Sean felt something was off. Why did this scene seem so familiar?
"Which teachers are still at the school?"
"Teacher Logan is here, and Teaching Assistant Rasputin too. You still haven't told me who you are."
"Sean. Sean White."
"The great demon White!"
The young man reacted strongly, leaning back as though trying to get farther away from Sean.
"Hm?"
"Ah, uh... Doctor White!"
The young man looked a little embarrassed, as if he'd accidentally let something slip.
Sean could tell with his ass that Polaris or Storm had definitely been spreading rumors about him.
"Does nobody need sleep around here?"
A rough voice sounded from the doorway. Sean turned and looked. Wasn't that Uncle Wolf?
The young man casually answered, "Isn't that obvious?"
Wolverine didn't know Sean and casually asked, "Who are you?"
"He's Sean White,"
the young man answered for Sean.
Wolverine froze slightly. Sean White had become quite famous at Xavier School these past few days. If they used the great demon White to scare children, they would definitely go to bed early.
"I heard your ledger's pretty dark?"
"..." Sean felt awkward. His ledger really was a little dark, but how was he supposed to answer a question like that?
"What are you doing at the school? Collecting debts?"
Wolverine asked indifferently. Without waiting for Sean's response, he opened the refrigerator himself.
"No beer?"
"This is a school. There's soda water over there." With Wolverine around, the young man gained a bit more courage and no longer seemed to care about the nervousness Sean had caused him earlier.
Uncle Wolf grabbed a bottle of soda water and sat down at the table before looking at Sean again.
"Lorna went out. If you're here to collect a debt, you probably won't find her."
Sean's heart was pounding right now. This scene was too familiar. It was practically identical to the movie. Next came the part where the military attacked the school.
But Sean had no reason to tell them about it, and that gave him a massive headache.
He probably couldn't leave now. William Stryker had to have already surrounded the school by this point.
"I'm not here for that. I came to treat Ororo."
"I know. I heard she got really fat before. How did you do that?"
"Oh, that? I gave her 150 kilograms of fat."
Sean wasn't intimidated at all as he casually chatted with Uncle Wolf.
Uncle Wolf took a sip of soda water and found it lacking. He casually held the bottle out in front of the young man from before.
The young man gave a gentle blow, and instantly, a bottle of ice-cold soda water was born. That was way too convenient!
"Gave... her fat?" Uncle Wolf found it a little unbelievable.
"Yeah, a very heavy gift. Um... I saw the news today about a mutant assassinating the president. Aren't you worried they might do something?"
Sean probed.
"What could happen? This place is full of children. Even if they wanted revenge, this wouldn't be the place."
Wolverine spoke carelessly.
"Really? I just have a feeling..."
"Quiet... You might actually be right! Stay here. Don't move!"
Wolverine cautiously walked out of the dining hall. He had already heard movement outside.
"..." Sean was speechless. It was really happening!
Did that mean he was getting caught in the crossfire?
Only seconds after Wolverine went out, the sounds of fighting and blades slicing through things came from outside.
They were fighting...
"Go get help! What are you waiting for?"
Sean grimaced and said to the young man.
"Oh~"
Before the young man could move, an incredibly piercing scream rang out... Sean felt that girls were truly terrifying. That one scream made his head feel like it was splitting apart.
Fortunately, the scream only lasted a few seconds before stopping.
"Hurry up and leave."
Sean urged the young man.
"My name is Robert Drake. You can call me Bobby."
"Got it. Go on."
Sean waved him off. Of course he knew Bobby the Iceman. He'd watched the movies several times, after all.
"Ah... This feels bad."
He wanted to slip into the tunnels with the students. The maze down there was even more complicated than the one he'd wandered through earlier.
But another thought suddenly came to mind. William Stryker... Could he develop a new line of business?
During that moment of hesitation, an armed soldier smashed through the window.
Sean obediently raised both hands.
He had no intention of violently resisting like Wolverine.
If he cooperated, nothing would happen.
The armed soldier was stunned too. He had been ready to fire a tranquilizer dart at Sean, but seeing how cooperative Sean was, he hesitated.
In the end, he simply escorted Sean out of the castle.
Sean was cuffed, with two soldiers guarding him.
Not long afterward, gunshots rang out inside the castle. These soldiers had brought real weapons.
It was probably because Wolverine was slaughtering everyone inside.
Sean didn't care much. He just thought Uncle Wolf was incredible. That healing factor combined with an Adamantium skeleton was practically a cheat. Other than Magneto, who could stand up to him?
Just like that, William Stryker raided the X-Men's home base.
He captured several children and dismantled Professor X's Cerebro to take away. That had been his original objective.
Once everything was over, Sean met William Stryker.
"Who are you?"
Sean felt like he'd been asked "Who are you?" many times today.
"I'm a doctor. I was only here to see my patient..."
"A doctor?"
William Stryker frowned as he eyed Sean suspiciously. He believed everyone here was a mutant.
But Xavier School indeed had no one named Sean on its roster.
"A very good doctor. Even mutants' healing abilities aren't as effective as my medical skills."
William Stryker thought for a moment and asked,
"Sean White?"
Sean was startled. Was his reputation already that great?
"You are..."
"William Stryker."
"Oh, Doctor Stryker, hello. Your reputation precedes you!"
William Stryker did have some fame. He was an expert in genetic research, so Sean's flattery wasn't misplaced.
"Doctor White, perhaps we can work together."
"It would be an honor!"
Sean figured that as long as he didn't have to fight, anything was negotiable. He didn't enjoy killing and fighting. It was exhausting.
Still, he really did feel honored right now.
If a cage counted as an honor, that was.
Canada, British Columbia, Alkali Lake.
The helicopter flew all the way from New York to this place, stopping three times just to refuel.
Sean was so bored on the plane he nearly cried.
Instead of sleeping in his comfortable bed and holding his girlfriend, he had insisted on earning that tiny bit of source essence from Storm. Otherwise, why would he be dealing with all this?
If he had gone through the tunnels with the students earlier, he'd probably be on his way home by now.
But there were no ifs. No what-ifs.
Just stay put in William Stryker's lair and await your fate~
If that didn't work out...
Then hang on until the X-Men came to liberate this place~
Don't miss out as you pass by—youth and lifespan were going on a massive sale~
Dr. Stryker, how about twenty years of lifespan?
It seemed Alkali Lake Dam had quite a few good things~
Should I take something back to play with?
