Yuriko had paid $4,000 in damages to get Polaris out. There hadn't been any bail, but that was still $4,000 down the drain!
Wouldn't it have been better to spend it on himself?
Besides, the officers at the station were all talking about Polaris being a Mutant. They suspected the woman was connected to the notorious villain Magneto.
Polaris looked a little uneasy when she saw Sean. Getting drunk and causing trouble wasn't exactly something to be proud of.
"What did you and Elektra do?"
"N-nothing... We just... got into a fight with someone."
She sounded so unconvincing.
Sean figured the guy whose place they'd trashed had probably been too scared to report it. Otherwise, $4,000 wouldn't have been nearly enough!
He glared at her in annoyance, then led the way out.
Polaris followed behind him like a frightened little bird.
No one would ever guess that Magneto's famous daughter, Polaris, who could control magnetism, would act like this.
"Go wash that green out of your hair when we get back. You could've dyed it any color, and you picked green~"
Sean was especially sensitive about green hair. Just looking at it made him uncomfortable.
"Mm~"
"And don't hang around with that Elektra girl anymore. You're not going to learn anything good from her~"
"Mm~"
Tsk~ Why was it that seeing her act so meek made him want to bully her even more?
Sean didn't ask what had happened the night before until they were in the car.
"I... I accidentally pulled down a streetlight pole..."
"..."
"I was drunk..."
Had her X-gene gone out of control when she was drunk?

But since she hadn't gotten into a fight with the police, she probably had just overdone it~
They were still on the road when Linda Carter called~
"Dr. White, someone's here causing trouble!"
Sean's anger flared up in an instant.
"Who?"
"They say they're here to demand compensation. Dr. Ava has... taken care of them... I mean... subdued them~"
"I'm on my way."
After hanging up, Sean took a deep breath. Then he caught sight of the cowering Polaris, and he couldn't hold back his anger.
He really wanted to teach that girl a lesson!
"You cause trouble, and then you don't even clean up after yourself!"
Polaris huddled in the corner of the seat with her head down, as if she'd accept anything he said without putting up a fight.
Seeing her like that only made Sean angrier.
"You don't have anything to say?"
Polaris sneaked a glance at Sean but said nothing.
"Smack, smack, smack, smack!"
"I told you to speak! I told you to speak! Hm? If you dare wreck the car, I'll make you build me a new one!"
Polaris, her face filled with humiliation and frustration, stopped using her powers. Once she was free of Sean's control, she tugged hard at her clothes, then curled up in the corner of the seat again, glaring at him with cold eyes.
Now that he'd let off some steam, Sean felt the world grow beautiful again.
Tsk~ Was stress relief really that simple?
As soon as he returned to the clinic, Sean frowned.
The glass door was shattered~
Everything from the reception desk was scattered across the floor~
"Where are they?"
Linda pointed toward the private examination room with a worried look.
Inside, seven burly men lay neatly in a row. Their eyes were wide with terror, darting around frantically, while the rest of their bodies remained perfectly still.
Ava Ellis sat in a chair with her legs crossed, swinging them back and forth.
When she saw Sean come in, she immediately stood up, straightened her sexy doctor's uniform, and gave him a seductive smile.
"They're not dead?"
"...Did they need to be?"
Ava asked tentatively.
"We'll see."
Their conversation sounded perfectly ordinary, but to the seven men, it meant something else entirely~
What kind of clinic was this?!
They'd only smashed a door to intimidate the staff, and then they'd somehow been taken down~
The female doctor had dragged them in like piglets and lined them up neatly in the room. From the look on her face, she'd even seemed to be wondering whether to cut them all to the same length~
And now this man had walked in and seemed surprised they were still alive!
God, somebody save us!
Sean turned the chair Ava had been sitting in to face the thugs, then sat down in it with an air of authority.
Ava Ellis obediently stood behind Dr. White and massaged his shoulders.
"Tell me why you came here to cause trouble~"
"Not willing to talk? Interesting."
The thugs looked even more terrified~
"They can't speak~"
Ava whispered in Sean's ear.
"What did you do to them?"
"I blocked the signals coming from their brains~"
"..."
"I paralyzed their central nervous systems~"
"You even know medicine?"
Sean found it strange. He remembered that the female demon didn't know the first thing about medicine.
"Dr. Palmer told me. He said these are the symptoms of central nervous system paralysis~ How was I supposed to know what it was called? I just made sure they couldn't move or speak~"
The female demon hurried to explain. Otherwise, she'd end up being forced to take a medical licensing exam, and that would be a pain.
"Right... Did any of these guys hurt our new employee?"
"Dr. Palmer was a little frightened, I think~"
The female demon sounded uncertain. She had a feeling she'd misunderstood something.
The moment Sean heard her answer, the corners of his mouth curled upward~
Revealing a row of menacing teeth!
"My clinic just opened today. I had a hard time finding a new doctor, and you came here to cause trouble and scared my new doctor..."
"If you had a legitimate reason for coming here, that would be one thing. But why did you come? You picked a fight for no reason. You deserve to die!"
Sean had a bit of a grudge against these guys. The damage to the clinic didn't matter.
What mattered was the way these bastards operated. Polaris and Elektra had trashed his place, and now they'd come after his clinic? What kind of logic was that?
With that kind of behavior, they'd probably dragged plenty of innocent people into trouble before~ The world would be better off without people like them, who only existed to cause trouble~
"I've said my piece. Um... Ava, you can either deal with them yourself or summon something to eat them~"
Ava Ellis blinked a few times, at a loss for words over Dr. White's train of thought. What did he mean, summon something to eat them?
She was a demon, yes, and sinful souls were delicious, yes. But that didn't mean she had to eat the flesh, too!
Sean didn't care what she did with them. He tossed out a "Take care of it" and turned to leave.
Only after leaving the examination room did he realize that he'd just decided the fate of seven people. He felt both resentful and reluctant to go through with it, but leaving them alive would only cause trouble~
Tsk~ He was starting to feel like a ruthless boss.
Sean considered himself a fair man. If people came after him, he took them out. Fair was fair. These thugs weren't the X-Men, so he didn't feel compelled to go easy on them~
In the past, he might've found a few people in debt to take their place, but his ambitions had grown, and he wasn't interested in scraps like these. It was simpler to clean things up for good.
Besides, he didn't have to do the dirty work himself, so his hands would stay clean~
Sean: "Finished eating yet?"
Ava: "As if I'd eat people like that!" (╬￣皿￣)
