Background

Shen Yuan is a transmigrant from Earth who entered the Cloudmist Mountains seeking the hidden Falling Cloud Sect. Instead, he found its collapsed grotto-heaven and a stone stele recording that the sect had been destroyed after the Human Emperor severed heaven and earth’s connection ten thousand years earlier. The stele also foretold an “Ascension Daoist” who would save the sect, leaving Shen Yuan to wonder whether he had arrived ten thousand years too late. 1

After leaving the mountains, Shen Yuan cultivated with the Cloudmist Breathing Method and began seeking relics, information, and spiritual materials connected to the ancient era.
