Stars shifted, the moon sank, yet the sun did not rise.
The sky was gray and overcast, somewhat oppressive, as if it might rain. Even the early birds seemed listless in their calls.
But no matter what, the long night had finally passed.
Crystal-clear morning dew clung to flower petals and blades of grass, swaying in the morning breeze. Some seemed unable to withstand the disturbance and slowly slipped away, eventually gathering into droplets that fell swiftly to the ground, returning to Mother Earth's embrace.
Insects chirped from within the flowers, seeming somewhat restless. The fluttering butterflies, too, appeared unable to find blossoms they liked enough to settle on, landing and taking off again.
By the flower field, pheasants were clucking as well. Little Wolf Cub stretched out his neck and gave them warning howls, as though telling them to shut up. After barking a few times, he returned to the front of the cabin and peered through the doorway.
Inside the little cabin, Wu Chu slowly woke up. When he opened his eyes and looked around, he found that the world before him had become much clearer. He could even clearly see the tiny cracks on the surfaces of the dead logs laid across the roof.
He blinked and exhaled, then pushed himself upright with his arms. As a result, his body swayed involuntarily, and he nearly flew out the other side.
He lowered his head to look at his hands and felt that their strength had increased greatly after this sleep. But when he looked, he saw a pair of gray hands completely coated in dust. His clothes were the same.
Turning to look outside, he saw that it was no longer nighttime. He froze for a moment, recalling that when he had gone to sleep, he had been eating that bear paw with Yueling. Night had only just fallen then, yet it was already over now.
After doing a quick calculation, Wu Chu realized that by Earth's time, he had slept for more than a month. No wonder he was covered in dust.
He could not help sighing inwardly, then suddenly remembered the new world he had discovered after falling asleep. He closed his eyes again, and with a slight movement of his mind, that brand-new blood-colored world appeared before his "eyes" once more.
This was... inner vision?!
Wu Chu abruptly opened his eyes, grinning wide and showing a mouthful of white teeth.
He could confirm it now. This was inner vision!
And all those things he had done over the past "month" had been cultivation. Although the method was extremely primitive and inefficient, it was still cultivation.
He pushed off the bed and leaped into the air, wanting to express the joy in his heart. But before he could react, he had already slammed his head into his own roof.
Two of the dead logs in the roof snapped at once, and four broken sections came crashing down.
"What happened? What happened?" Little Moon Spirit instantly appeared outside the doorway, looking in confusion at the four fallen pieces of wood and Wu Chu, who was rubbing his head and baring his teeth. "Big Brother A Chu, you're awake! Why did the roof collapse?"
At that moment, Yibao, who had only just retreated into the phone to slack off, popped out again. She pointed at Wu Chu and laughed so hard she swayed, utterly carefree and cheeky.
Wu Chu waved as he rubbed his head. "It's fine, it's fine. I just couldn't control my strength!"
Little Moon Spirit looked Wu Chu over from head to toe and covered her mouth as she laughed softly. She knew his strength had gotten out of control. But she was still puzzled. Wasn't he recovering his strength? Had he even forgotten how to control it? Was that "ordinary illness" really so terrifying?
Hearing that, Wu Chu laughed heartily. He was about to go relieve himself, take a bath, and wash his clothes while he was at it, but the moment he took a step, his body pitched forward.
Fortunately, Little Moon Spirit was there. With a flick of her small hand, she supported Wu Chu's body. "Be careful, Big Brother A Chu. It seems you still aren't used to this sudden increase in strength. Once you take some time to feel it out, you'll adapt. It's fine. Where do you want to go? I'll help you!"
Unable to figure it out, she could only continue treating Wu Chu as an "ordinary person."
What a suck-up!
Seeing how attentive Little Moon Spirit was, Yibao grumbled inwardly. She huffed and retreated back into the phone, adopting an out-of-sight, out-of-mind attitude.
"I need to go to the toilet first..."
Wu Chu could already feel a faint ache in his stomach. There were probably plenty of impurities inside him that needed to be expelled, and he could not help baring his teeth.
With Little Moon Spirit's help, Wu Chu reached the toilet. He carefully held onto the wooden wall and sat on the toilet... Afterward, with Little Moon Spirit's help again, he went to the bath pool to wash up. He even had Little Moon Spirit help him remove his clothes, afraid that he might tear them.
As the grime on his body was scrubbed away layer by layer, Wu Chu discovered that his skin had become smoother and more resilient. The lines of his muscles pleased him immensely.
This was something he had once imagined having, but had always been too lazy to train for.
After finishing his bath, Wu Chu wrapped grass leaves around his lower body and prepared to wash his clothes. But after thinking about it, he did not dare start, afraid that he might accidentally tear them.
Besides, without detergent, they would probably be difficult to clean properly.
"Looks like I'll have to make some soap."
Wu Chu looked at his sour-smelling clothes and muttered inwardly.
Wrapped in grass leaves, Wu Chu climbed out of the bath pool. He clenched his fist, looked at the grass beside him, and threw a powerful punch at the ground, wanting to test his strength.
The result was that his entire arm nearly plunged into the soil.
Wu Chu froze for a moment, silently pulled his arm back out, and stood up. After thinking about it, he jumped upward with all his strength. The height of that leap startled even him.
Everything around the valley came into view. He had no idea how high he had jumped, but he felt that ten-odd meters should have been possible.
That height was a little outrageous. He had no ruler, so he could not be certain.
But one thing was certain: he truly was different from before.
Although he failed to keep his balance when he landed and fell over, Wu Chu still could not help laughing out loud. With this little bit of ability, he could not compare with the big shots of this world, and there was nothing worth being proud of. But for someone who had once been an ordinary person, he felt that he was already a little superman.
He laughed and cheered, repeatedly climbing up from the ground and jumping around. Even when he fell flat on his face, he did not get angry. He would get back up and keep running and jumping, as clumsy as a child who had only just learned how to run and jump, stumbling about yet still incomparably happy.
Yueling watched his antics silently from afar. As she watched, she shyly covered her little face, but through the gaps between her fingers, her starry eyes were full of curiosity. Why is Big Brother A Chu's body like that? How strange!
It turned out that the grass leaves wrapped around Wu Chu's lower body had suddenly fallen off.
After venting the joy in his heart, Wu Chu discovered that this method was quite helpful for mastering his balance and the use of his strength, so he continued using it to adapt to his suddenly increased power.
After spending several hours on it, once he could walk without falling over, Wu Chu ran back to make soap.
Making soap using crude methods was not difficult. With his limited conditions, he could only use the method of adding plant alkali solution to hot oil for extraction, which was also the most convenient method.
