Listening to Little Moon Spirit's explanation, Wu Chu gradually came to understand that the cultivation knowledge he knew wasn't wrong—it was just that Acquired Beings had yet to appear in the current Primordial World.
Aside from an exception like him, every living thing in the Primordial World was currently an Innate Being. Even the weeds on the ground were Innate Beings born under the nourishment of Primordial Spiritual Energy.
Thinking back to when he had first arrived and couldn't even pull up a blade of grass, it all made sense.
The evening breeze carried a faint floral fragrance as it gently brushed past his nose, unhurried and unrestrained. The blood-red setting sun scattered its lingering warmth, enthusiastically draping all things in a layer of crimson gold. Tired birds returned to their nests, weary beasts went back to their valleys, and predators licked their lips and sharpened their claws, preparing to set out.
Several hens seemed reluctant to leave the insects in the flower beds, while Little Wolf Cub licked his tongue as he stared at the steaming bear paw on the table.
Wu Chu silently ate the steamed bear paw while pondering these matters of cultivation knowledge.
Just as he had thought, this world still had quite a few similarities with the Primordial World he knew. So while the common knowledge he had learned from books couldn't be fully trusted, it could still serve as a reference. In other words, that old Daoist Ran Deng might return for revenge.
The very fact that someone like old Daoist Ran Deng existed showed that the great figures from those myths truly existed in this world. And old Daoist Ran Deng wasn't exactly a broad-minded, forgiving sort.
He just didn't know what level of powerhouse old Daoist Ran Deng was now.
"Once one reaches the Golden Immortal Realm, can they cultivate an Indestructible Spirit Light?" Wu Chu asked again. "And once they do, can they live forever?"
Little Moon Spirit sat on a low stool carved from purple Sacred Tree wood, swinging her little feet as she nodded. "Theoretically, yes! But I've heard Purple Jade Daoist say that some powerful beings are born with Indestructible Spirit Light. Once they take human form, they're at least in the Golden Immortal Realm. They're also called Innate Divine Beings."
"Then Purple Jade Daoist should be an Innate Divine Being too!"
"Mm, he probably is." Little Moon Spirit nodded, then said, "A Chu should be an Innate Divine Being too! Although that 'Ordinary Illness' turned A Chu into an ordinary person who needs to cultivate all over again, I believe A Chu will definitely recover soon!"
Ordinary Illness?!
Wu Chu froze for a moment, then the corners of his lips twitched as he nearly burst out laughing.
What kind of thought process did this girl even have?
But thinking about it, it was perfectly normal for her to think that way. After all, she was a native born and raised in this world. She had no idea about something like transmigration.
"Oh dear! This really is troubling! This Ordinary Illness has made me so utterly ordinary. If I want to regain my former glory, it'll probably be quite difficult!"
Going along with her words, Wu Chu began boasting. He shook his head with a sigh, wearing the air of a hero who didn't speak of past valor and a great man whose origins needn't be asked, while silently finishing the entire bear paw.
Yibao, who had been eavesdropping in secret, bluntly jumped out. "Where's your shame? Where's your shame?"
Little Moon Spirit opened her small mouth, looking at her in confusion.
Wu Chu reached out and shoved her back into the phone. "If your shame fell off, go look for it in the phone."
Little Moon Spirit came back to herself and covered her mouth as she giggled.
After finishing the entire bear paw, Wu Chu stood and stretched. To his surprise, his stomach didn't feel stuffed this time. Patting his belly, he said, "Little Moon Spirit, make whatever you want to eat yourself! And whip up something for little A Qiu too. I'm going to cultivate first. I'll strive to let everyone eat Dragon Meat as soon as possible."
"Mm-hmm! Go quickly, A Chu!"
Little Moon Spirit nodded like a pecking chick and even licked her lips.
Humming an unfamiliar tune, Wu Chu returned to the little wooden cabin, thinking that having an adorable little cook make food for him really wasn't bad at all.
No cooking, and no washing dishes either... This life was comfortable!
Lying on the soft bear pelt and feeling the surging tide of spiritual energy within him, Wu Chu gradually sank his consciousness into his body. He continued using that crude method to guide the spiritual energy into his Qi Sea, then led the Five-Colored Mist within the Qi Sea as it charged wildly through those narrow paths, storming cities and conquering strongholds.
Dividing his mind in two had gradually become a habit for him.
As one checkpoint after another was uprooted, the force formed from the Five-Colored Mist within his body grew stronger and stronger. Their blades were formidable, and they swept through everything in their path. Those narrow winding paths were expanded into broad avenues, allowing the spiritual energy's force to run rampant without obstruction.
When he had captured every checkpoint along all the narrow paths inside his body, Wu Chu clearly felt as though he had shattered some kind of barrier within himself. His mind became clear and open, the speed at which spiritual energy entered his body increased, and his body seemed to enter a peculiar state of transformation.
Though he didn't understand cultivation, ever since learning to look within himself, he had gradually realized through every use of his spells that when a spell was cast, the magical power inside his body traveled through these meridians. Leading the Five-Colored Mist to storm cities and conquer strongholds through those meridians was equivalent to providing magical power with more convenient channels, allowing spells to be cast faster and with greater force.
With such results, Wu Chu became even more motivated to continue this work.
What he hadn't expected, however, was that after those major meridians had all been cleared, the cells of his body seemed to awaken from sleep. They ravenously devoured the Five-Colored Mist, accelerating their division, while the newly formed cells contained even greater strength.
Wu Chu watched these scenes in amazement, then organized one mighty force after another. Following this momentum, he turned their advance toward even finer pathways. Along those narrow routes branching off from the main roads, he could occasionally see one or two fortified gates.
He knew that aside from the body's main acupoints, there were many other acupoints as well, connected by even finer meridians.
As groups of mighty troops struck out in every direction, capturing cities and seizing territory, the transformation within his body accelerated even further.
Yet how could Wu Chu, who was merely a rookie cultivator, know what kind of help this cultivation method provided for the fine control of magical power?
For Wu Chu, who had no specific cultivation technique and could only cultivate through this crude, clumsy method, splitting his mind into several parts was exhausting. But the results he achieved seemed astonishing to him, filling him with accomplishment and steadily boosting his confidence.
He had no idea how long the transformation lasted. Only after it ended, when every meridian large and small within his body had become completely clear, did Wu Chu emerge from that state.
Outside, birds sang and flowers scented the air. From time to time came the sound of great fish churning the waves. Sunlight squeezed through the narrow crack in the door, casting streaks of light across the wooden cabin and brightening its dim interior. Dust floated and frolicked within those beams, chasing one another.
Knock, knock, knock...
A knock on the door came with Little Moon Spirit's voice. "A Chu, do you need help?"
Little Moon Spirit had clearly been keeping watch over him. The moment he awoke, she sensed it.
"Mm, bring me a cup of water first!"
As he spoke, Wu Chu carefully lifted the bear pelt and sat up. Though he already knew he couldn't use much force, he still sent the bear pelt flying.
And his own hand startled him. It was pitch-black, and his arm was the same color. He looked no different from a Black person now.
